I understand that you are operating in an alternate reality not based on anything that Ron has done.

He’s done none of this

Some are naive in thinking DeSantis shall be Trump with a filter.
He’s trump with a brain. He’s trump that’s not able to be fooled by false flattery.
At least he has the potential to be.
I’d certainly take a chance on that potential as his record shows he will be

You seem to be ignoring DeSantis' cabinet if he became President. His VP will be dictated to him.

Ron will have his cabinet picked out and his wives first brunch with Jill Biden planned down to the conversation.
I think Desantis is a damned fined Governor but until he shows differently... he is all hat no cattle.

You post some nutty shite but this takes the cake.

So what this boils down to is that you have basically no regard for the universally recognized notion that relying solely upon hindsight for one’s conclusions, that reliance upon hindsight receives little to no credit, and is looked down upon informal terms, you’re dismissing that, correct? That is definitely what you’re asserting because otherwise you’d agree that while it didn’t turn out well, there was no possible way to foresee that in them nomination/selection process.
What is all this word salad?
I’m talking about making a hire based on an assessment of their past judgement.
Les miles thought Cam Cameron Greg studrwara and Gary crowton would be excellent offensive coordinators.
Ed Orgeron thought he could mesh with Matt Canada and thought Bo pelini would be good DC.
Based on the above I would say they should not be head coach at LSU.
Donald Trump thought Jeff Sessions and bill Barr should be AG and gave Elaine chao a prominent cabinet position. Amongst others.
I am using that in my judgement that there is a superior nomination for the Republican Party.
I guess you want to rehire Les Miles

Answer the question. Do you think DeSantis is Trump with a filter or a more animated not too religious Pence?
Remember when Romney, Ryan, Rubio, were conservative? It was an act I am not going to fall for it again. Sorry if you think it is crazy. I think it would be crazy not to proceed with extreme caution.

Romney
Romney was the governor of Massachusetts and was the blueprint for Obamacare.
He was never the conservative wing of the GOP

Ryan
Agreed massive turncoat failure.
The epitome of the establishment loving to be in the minority with no power so they can claim their hands were tied to the base

Rubio, were conservative?
The dude has been as solid a conservative senator as most anyone the last 6 years.

It’s a word salad because somehow, some way, you seem confused at the extremely common concept that making your case based on hindsight alone (and so proudly and confidently is what’s most strange to me), it’s looked down upon and not taken seriously. And that’s precisely what you’re doing with your rebuke of Trump for selecting Barr in the first place, as if Trump was supposed to predict the unprecedented events to come.
I don’t know anymore. Maybe go look up “hindsight is 20/20” and you may find something else that explains it in a way you would better understand.

I’m rebuking Trump on failing at one of the biggest aspects of his job.
His job is to vet appointments.
This isn’t a oh no whoopsie daisy situation and wasn’t an isolated incident. Hindsight is 20/20 doesn’t absolve him of it.
Hindsight 20/20 could apply to say Rex tillerson. Wasn’t great. Had to get fired but didn’t screw anything up.
When it’s a pervasive problem and happened back to back with two attorney generals and the problems with those two appointments mired the administration in scandals, impeachments and possibly caused him to lose the White House?
That causes people to reasonably question his vetting and hiring practices.
You don’t question firing Miles got his poor offensive coordinator choices well this is the same thing.
If I was a bank and my hiring manager brought in two people in a row who embezzled money then I would fire the hiring manager.
I don’t throw up my hands and say “welp hindsight is 20/20, we will get ‘em next time chuck!”

His job is to vet appointments, yes, I agree. But to what extent? I’d say a “reasonable” extent would maybe be a good answer. But is it your contention that he should consider and vet every possible scenario, in existence? Then the infinite combinations of all the possible scenarios in existence? For instance was Trump supposed to have known all the combinations of actions, inactions and chance that led to the Barr statement regarding his observations as to existence of widespread fraud yadda yadda? C’mon.

Anyone with an IQ above 100 and lived in Atlanta back in the 80s and 90s knows that Bob Barr is someone who gets his kicks off vilifying those close to him politically who are more successful than he is. He's a very insecure and self-hatting individual. It's too bad because the dude is very smart but has a total lack of wisdom. Jealously has encompassed his entire being.
I think you have the wrong Barr there mate.

It's ol Adam. He gets a free up vote and whoever he is antagonizing for the night gets a downer. You'll see when this thread is down to the two of you.

Anyway. Ron Desantis will get the Republican nomination for President, period end of story and when that happens, Trump will run as an Independent or under the "MAGA Party flag or some such shite like that. Bitter Enders like so many on this board will then cost Desantis the election. For you see, you sweet summer child. Donald Trump will take the attitude that if he can't have it, no one will. His toxic ego will see to it.

I have no clue as of yet, but I like what he has done for the most part, even if he feels a tad swampy to me.

Study closely what he's done in Florida as Governor. He has bucked every establishment trend in the Republican party. Desantis is legit. Once Trump finishes out his 2024 term as President, Desantis for the following 8 years as President.

There’s the problem, right there. The definition of ‘solid a conservative senator’ is in the eyes of the Party leadership, and not in the eyes of the generally conservative voter.
The leadership wants:
Endless illegal immigration for the Chamber handlers and the business owners / donor class
Any War at Any Time in Any Location for Any Duration, for the MIC money
Power consolidated in DC
The Rubio conservative to thrive, and the DeSantis conservative to die
The average conservative voter wants the opposite of these.
