Everyone here loved Desantis until the media started pushing him

Now he is apparently a Rino although nothing in his record suggests this. They push him to divide the party. They don’t “want” him. They will turn on him as soon as he is nominated.

Trump was a great president but he also inflamed a lot of people with his bluster, turning off many moderate voters. This hurts his electability. The nation needs a patriotic fighter who is also presidential and articulate. We need another Reagan. Desantis is that person

You just won’t give it a rest will you?

I still love DeSantis, he is easily the best Governor in the country. (it isn’t even close)

and Donald Trump was the best POTUS of my lifetime, so if he is running, he has my vote

if DeSantis runs and wins, I won’t be upset, as he looks like a good 2nd choice

He's not a RINO and the media isn't "pushing him", they're taking notice. And why shouldn't they take notice?

Ron Desantis stood up to the Queer gangsters, clipped those Disney nuts and said "frick you" to the politics of China virus when other "national stage" elected Republicans were cowering in the frickin' corner.

He's not some fringe politician or Congressional Rep who spouts off a bunch of outlandish bullshite because he's playing to a small audience.

He's a "national stage", legit Presidential candidate who stood the frick up and politely taught the movement we all hate some fricking manners and he did it when everyone else was afraid to.

He's showing the Republican Party what can be done when you point and laugh at the naked emperor. That's a big deal when you're practically the only legitimate Republican Presidential candidate doing it.

He'll not waste this moment, they're fleeting. He'll run for President and I hope to God he wins. He's the only candidate that can get this country back to some semblance of the kind of Conservativism your parents knew or you knew coming of age.

There's no "media conspiracy" here or whatever other dumb shite to "split" the conservative base. The base split on its own when Desantis showed himself as a charismatic guy (unlike Trump) who politely tells the opposition to frick off. That's some boss Reagan shite right there.

Ground yourself in this reality now. Donald Trump will never see the inside of the White House again unless he's Ron's dinner guest. MAGA's peeling off every day from Trump. Even his most ardent bitter enders are starting to accept he's simply unelectable.

I didn't know the media was pushing him. I no longer support him. Thanks for letting me know.

I like Trump. Always liked him. I spent the first 14 years of my career planning and building large scale resorts and worked with several people/contractors that also worked with Trump through the years. None of them ever had a problem with him.

I’ve said this before, but I think he acts like a spoiled rich kid way to often. To me this comes down to 4 years of Trump vs 8 years of DeSantis. A lot can happen in two years, but if I was voting today I’d be leaning towards DeSantis.

If Trump runs DeSantis won't.

That's how it should be.

Some voters are going to stay home if such candidate doesn't win.

It's because we have seen this before with the tea party.

Anybody stating that DeSantis is not being pushed as a Trump alternative is blind.

If you can't see the replay in this you simply don't want to.

This is nothing more than desire vs reality of what was accomplished.

Would be nice to have a president that isn’t geriatric.

We still love him, but 2024 isn't his year to run for presidency. He will be a thorn in your side in 2028.

Hmm, I can’t quite put my finger in it, but somehow I think I’ve already seen this movie

This is pure naive fantasy, of course he'll run.

There's no "gentleman's agreement" when it comes to competing for the most important elected office in the world and when Trump starts slinging his typical, petulant and very predictable attacks. All Ron will have to do is say "See, I told you so" and then cogently point out exactly why Donald Trump simply isn't electable.

Trump is an icon where his fans spread all over the world. It would be better for Trump to run his last term and then Ron can have his turn.

Unless Desantis goes back on his known word, then he is not running if Teump is.

If he does go back on his word, he will lose a large part of the base.

Guess what dude, I love both. We’re in good shape either way but I do want to see leftists spontaneously combust with a MAGA win in 2024
