So a place in Cuba recently hit 32 degrees Fahrenheit which is a tad lower than the 33.08 degrees Fahrenheit that another part of the island experienced some 30 years ago.

Yep, it’s all over for humanity. Better give some more money to our governments and global overlords so they….can do something quick.

Then what we paying the EPA for? We gotta shovel that money in there so our water is safe. We saying that's not happening?

Just to make sure I'm following - you're cool with corporations dumping toxic chemicals into our water supplies as long as the EPA exists? Or you're blaming the EPA for allowing corporations to continuously dump toxic chemicals into our water supplies?

You're obviously extremely happy with the water quality at your house. You said it removes all forever chemicals and microplastics. I'm looking for a recommendation.

Oh - didn't mean to offend you by asking for a recommendation.

5 gallon water cooler. Spring water if you can find it. Spent 150 on a cooler from HD and still working after 8 years.

bullshite..

But honestly, I am very happy with our water quality and if you really do want a recommendation, I will ask him when he gets home and tell you what we have. The drinking water and ice maker are routed from an Aipek (sp?) system I believe, but I don’t know the whole house filtration.

I've been toying with getting a reverse osmosis whole house system but I always get distracted before I pull the trigger. Wondering if there's a better whole house system out there.

Didn't say that. Just asking what we are sending them (the EPA) billions to do.

What does the acronym stand for? Their primary reason for existing? Their mission?

I imagine anything is better than nothing.

I dunno your neck of the woods, but the water quality testing in my area is lacking. When the kids were little it really bothered us how much crap they were likely taking in by being water only kids. Hence the double system setup. Little bodies are far more affected by contaminants.

I would prefer to have fewer forever chemicals in my water supply, even in China's air quality is worse than the air quality here.

Cool. I'd prefer to not have to put up with arm chair eco dogmatics like yourself who toss out platitudes and then when confronted with actual reality like Sally presented to you, fall back on I'd prefer isms

but here we are

News flash. That was a rhetorical question.

I mean... you said:

hence the need for government or societal interventions and protections.

Why is there a need when we already have it?

But you do agree we need to end the mining of lithium for so many EVs when that poisons the water to a much higher degree than anything produced by any corporation in America. Right? You know... since this thread had zilch to do initially with water pollution.

Here is a question... should we take military action on countries that heavily pollute if they will not stop by any other means?

Ok, we do have reverse osmosis- both systems are Apec- I misspelled it earlier.

i'd very much recommend their water filtration products.

Something I find remarkable is that all the die-hard followers of Hayek's "The Road to Serfdom" always fail to acknowledge his understanding that many environmental issues constitute "negative externalities" that the market cannot regulate alone, hence the need for government or societal interventions and protections.
And there we have it!

Why is it that Environmentalism of this sort almost always entails expanded government intervention?

While I don’t fully accept the standard Econ 101 framing of negative externalities, let’s grant for the sake of argument that they exist. Even then, the central issue is not merely whether costs must be allocated, but who is best positioned to do so under conditions of limited knowledge and imperfect incentives.

Given that both markets and governments face information and incentive problems, why should we expect centralized regulators—who are also susceptible to capture and epistemic limits—to outperform more decentralized mechanisms in addressing these issues?”

That doesn't really have anything to do with what I posted.
It has to do with reality. That is why I posted it.

The anthropogenic global warming ... uh ... global warming ... uh ... global boiling ... uh ... climate change hoax has diverted resources which could easily have targeted cleaning of the world's most polluted rivers, land waste management, Chinese and Indian smog, etc.

Instead we pissed our resources away on contrived BS ... aka ""Scientific Consensus"" ... aka a survey of extorted opinions ... the (UN)Scientific Method ***... forwarding BS science based on BS claims by BS 3rd world agents looking to line their pockets as they spread our wealth around.

*** You can read (UN) as either meaning "Not," or the "United Nations." Either is equally correct.

I was going to plant an orange grove in Kentucky based on expert Al Gore's prognostications. So for now sticking with apples and pears. But in tribute to him I have planted nut trees.

And get this, we have one of the usuals in here griping about water pollution, in a thread about climate, when lithium mining for EVs is a HUGE polluter of water.

It's the new talking point. She's changing gears, just like the WEF. Last year they came out and said climate change was too complex to move the issue forward anymore.

Remember global warming made the jump to climate change? It's time for the next pivot. Well there seems to be a lot of people that want this ai thing to happen and they need reliable power. Power plant talk is done.

These people still want more means of control, so water is wet.

This year's theme is Blue Davos, The Year of Water.

2026 Blue Davos

If you're a lefty and still pimping Climate Change, I don't know what to tell ya.

You missed the memo.

The left hasn't talked about water quality since the 80s, but here we are.
