Not saying it is this time, but I seem to recall a parliamentary procedure where voting against a measure allows you to bring it back up at a later date if you choose.

Can’t remember if it’s house or senate protocol, but I do remember that being employed before.

Will you have the same outrage when Republicans pass their bill to steal from children and the poor to fund tax breaks for the wealthy?

Do you mean the Republicans who are currently trying to eliminate government waste so children and poor people can keep more of their money? And what are Democrats and Democrat voters like yourself doing in response? You are throwing tantrums about it.

I swear you morons would slit your own throats if a Democrat politician told you to do it.

Those "tax cuts for the rich" worked out pretty well for us little guys, too. The ones with jobs anyways.

Surely the democrats have hammered out an alternative proposal. What is it?

Is that a yes or a no?

You think taking away less of someone’s money they earned is a “handout”?

Why should there be no tax on tips or overtime? I’m just curious of the logic behind it.

If your money was spent and used properly , and the fraud and corruption was eliminated , there would be no need at all for “tax” on your overtime , tips , or side jobs you do .

Don’t know what you have here but Steve Scalise just said the words Medicaid are not in the bill

You may have some fake news.

When people aren’t paying their fair share of what everyone else is paying but get the same benefits, then yes, it’s a handout.

Because Trump needed those votes to get elected.

You do recall that Kamala campaigned on the same thing, right? Which is better, to campaign to allow people to keep more of the money they earn or to campaign on stealing from one group to pay the other as Biden did with student loan forgiveness?

You could start collecting a national sales tax or VAT tax like Europe. Or you could just start taxing imports to grow the economy by making it an incentive to buy American. Also, the no tax on overtime could be done like this. No taxes on the employee portion of taxes, but the employer still pays the portion of income tax due on those wages. Also, just because income taxes are not collected doesn’t mean social security and Medicare taxes are not withheld. So the government still gets some cheddar. Now which company will be the first to test the no tax on overtime by paying their CEO minimum wage 40 hours a week, but pay the CEO 20 million a year in overtime pay. Could be a loophole that could be exploited.

Thanks for actually throwing out ideas instead of just referencing a point in time where we didn’t have income tax.

Would be curious to see how the math would work out.

no. maybe we should remedy that. we don't need to be the worlds police. we have no real threat of invasion.

That's the problem with you guys. you recognize there is a problem and think if we keep repeating the behavior that got us there, we will somehow pay off the debt.

Incorrect.

We could do away with all the fraud and waste and as long as we still had SS/Medicare and a decent military budget, we'd still be running a deficit.

I suggest looking at a pie chart of the federal budget sometime. Could be very eye-opening for you.

Yes we do.

Invasion is not the only international event that could harm the U.S.
