when i grew up in monroe those things were all over my house.
we called them 'water bugs' and i have ptsd to this day with those things showing up in the middle of the night or hiding out in my shoes when i put my feet in.

Cockroaches aren’t that common in L. A.
We rarely saw them. I don’t remember ever seeing one in our house.

I remember hearing my sisters' blood curdling screams when there was a flying roach in their room.. All of us boys would come running with sticks and brooms to save them... My dad would get pissed with all the late night commotion... Great memories that include a freakin flying roach.. LOL..
