But to be fair, intuition says that they "really don't want to." They're more than aware of what it could lead to.
This one is their ultimate posture.
For instance, would there be anything preventing his defense attorneys on the trial's initial day from calling Hillary as their very first witness.
Then launch into a painstaking, no-holds-barred, detailed account of her iniquities/liberties and compare how she was basically "exonerated" without a trial, or any censure of any kind, by the FBI and DOJ in comparison to the highly selective prosecution and harassment of Trump.
Then treat the country to a real spectacle.
Force her to go through the characteristic, expected Clinton "parrying" and theatrics consisting of "I don't recall...I have no independent recollection of...I don't remember" litany, interspersed with occasional invoking of the 5th.
All of which we've seen and heard before.
It would produce some of the more satisfying entertainment the country has seen in awhile.
Upset everyone: the media, the Swamp.
Bring it all crashing down.

She wasn’t exonerated. She was found to have inappropriately held an email server of some kind in her residence. But what was also found, was that there were no security breaches and that her carelessness was not malicious.

You fricking liar. Comey himself said their was cause for an investigation but because she was in the middle of an election they didn’t look into it. Pompeo recently stated that they knew she did wrong but didn’t bother doing what the swamp did to Trump. Try again.

It was found that her server was cc’d to China, and Comey said there were breaches. Also all our CIA operatives disappeared in China during that time period

In my opinion, Eric Holder is wound entirely too tight. He is in danger of having a heart attack unless he finds a way to relieve some pressure. I’d recommend someone install some relief holes in his body

Folks, there is hardly anyone more dialed in and pulling strings on the left and in this Administration than Eric Holder. He is very close with Obama and Garland. He is a longtime colleague and friend of Garland and, of course, he is Obama’s longtime right hand man.
So this is as valid a source into where they are going than anyone else.
If they really wanna risk the guaranteed fallout from that, they can go right ahead

Comey knew he was going beyond his job description in exonerating H->, but he did it anyway [after telling the world she was guilty as sin].
H-> was SOS and knew what she was doing was against national security. She intentionally had the insecure server installed in her home and proceeded with communications that were a risk to the US.
There were no security breaches? The fact that she had the server was a security breach - she was in possession of classified info...her password was something akin to 12345..the server was wide open.
She got caught and tried to destroy evidence for crying out loud. Then she smirked at us and said 'wiped, like with a cloth...?'
