Employers Frequently Overlook Resumes Which Include "They/Them" Pronouns

There now appears to be another potential twist to this: it appears that workers who identify as the cool du jour pronoun pair of "they/them" are being systematically ignored by potential employers, and face far fewer job offers compared to their less pronoun-sensitive peers.

Rhetorical questions aside, CNBC notes that Business.com also went a step further by sending two identical phantom resumes to “180 unique job postings that were explicitly open to entry-level candidates” in an effort to test “whether or not the inclusion of gender-neutral pronouns impacts how employers perceive resumes.”
“Both featured a gender-ambiguous name, ‘Taylor Williams.’ The only difference between the test and control resumes was the presence of gender pronouns on the test version,” McGonagill said in the report. “The test resume included “they/them” pronouns under the name in the header.” She/her and he/him pronouns were not tested.
The phantom resume including pronouns received 8% less interest than the one without, and fewer interview and phone screening invitations.
According to the report, over 64% of the companies that received these resumes were Equal Opportunity Employers, something that made the results even more “worrisome.”

Who would’ve thought making up your own pronouns and getting upset at the world would’ve been seen as a sign of mental instability and avoided by employers who are responsible to their businesses and those they currently employ to help them remain so?
What anti American pos is upset by practical business decisions?

Like I said in the other thread: Pink hairs and pronouns are similar to how poison frogs are brightly colored. It's a warning...
...to round file the resume.

Very wise HR dept.
They know what kind of problems come from the they/them followers.

I would have expected a much larger difference than 8%...

In times of struggle we worship heroes. In times of plenty we worship victims. I think this is natures way of trying to shed some dead weight.

Im surprised the difference is only 8%. With that little of a difference, the overwhelming majority of people don’t care, which TBH is worrisome. I’m all for discriminating against these people. You’re basically hiring a HR nightmare.
If the difference was at least 30%, I’d have more faith that more common sense was out there. We’re further in our decline than I thought

Good the minute you get a resume with they/them pronouns or any pronouns throw it in the trash.

1. You DO have a right to call yourself what you like.
2. You do NOT have an inherent right to work for me.
3. Your move.

Meh you’re hiring a person, not pronouns

They should have had a group with she/her and also a group with he/him to go along with the other two.
I’m ignoring ANY submission where someone feels the need to tell me what I should be calling them.
I’m guessing this isn’t so much a thing against the they/them crowd, but against the pronouns idiots as a whole.

People who include those pronouns in their résumé are going to be future problems at any office.

Matheus should have had a group with she/her and also a group with he/him to go along with the other two.

but I agree with you, the study should’ve included those two data points as well. The results would’ve been interesting.

There's certainly push back against this nonsense. Even the folks who put their pronouns in their email signatures are starting to roll those back in recent months.
Anecdotal, sure. But people are getting sick of this shite in the workplace. It's not productive at all. I just want to do my job and make money, I couldn't care less what you do at home. Don't bring it to work.

I care more that they start off with the political chip on the shoulder than how they identify.
