Agree, like I keep saying, if they would have tried using your defense of the spending then that's fine. But, for them to just keep lying and blaming others is what I have the biggest problem with.

Honestly, here's what I think happened.

The people who manage the place showed the Carsons some choices(these choices would have been only from approved vendors because that's a requirement and guess what.....it's a fricking SCAM!)

The Carsons picked one or maybe a few they preferred.

The People who manage the place let the COS know about the cost. Now, while run of the mill Americans hear $31K and go, "what the frick", in DC, that number wouldn't have even warranted a bathroom break.

Staff was told to execute. So, they did.

Hence, the Carson initial response was absolutely accurate and this is much hand wringing driven primarily by the following facts.

1. Average Americans have no idea about the government ordering process/requirements for such things.

2. Average Americans think $31K is an immense number.

3. Interestingly, no one has fricking described this set. I mean, if it's a mama jamma that seats like 14, I wouldn't even consider $31K high.

I agree with that 100 percent. However, for Carson's department, I think 4 or 5 plastic folders and paper cups will suffice. Splurge on Dixie and Chinette though.

I'll also bet that the 1998 set was expensive as frick for 1998. The shite lasted 30 years! And almost certainly got MUCH more use every year than my set may ever get.

I'm guessing it wasn't bargain basement shite.

It still boggles my mind that this isn't a story for the MSM

I do and I support Trump. If he wants to fly home on his dime fine. Otherwise stay in Washington.

If I worked for a company in Baton Rouge and wanted to fly home every weekend, you think they would pay for it? Nope.

Don't talk about draining the swamp while you are draining the bank.

Plus, I seem to recall him making comments about Obama doing exactly what he is now doing.

I have no problem with 95% of what he has done to date. I do have a problem with his travel.

Why didn’t the administration drag its feet for years and make Judicial Watch sue to get the emails? I thought that’s how it was done?

I doubt the omission is accidental. And it included a good deal of furniture. They’re trying to make it seem like hey ordered a kids tea set for $31k. I smell bs in the air.

For some perspective.

This set is $11K Assembled. And it seats fricking 8.

And we're still talking about a mass produced brand.

I need me some specs before I can know if $31K is ridiculous or not. Tommy Bahama

There's no way the omission is accidental.

At this point, CNN absolutely knows the exact set that was ordered.

Trust me. If telling us made it look worse, we'd know.

Before I buy shite like that, I always ask myself how long I plan to own it, and I divide the total by that number. Usually, things that seem a bit more expensive end up on the better value column.

Before I bought the furniture in my current(hopefully final) house, I had bought........just for my living room.........4 sets of furniture in the prior 15 years.

I'm liable to die on my current shite.

A few years ago, I found a custom furniture maker and commissioned him for every major piece in my house. He gave me a massive discount. I have really, really, nice custom furniture for my place for less than what I paid for all the other sets I've owned. This shite isn't going anywhere. It's solid AF, and looks better with age.

Your children will hate you when you die.

My Grandparents had all solid cherry wood furniture.

When they passed(within a week of each other), I and my father helped move some of the stuff.

I almost died moving their hutch. Thing practically required a forklift.

That’s funny.

Your outrage appears to be quite selective. You seem to be fine with the whole “muh Russians” lie/excuse for Hillary’s loss.

I was agreeing with you.

If an 8 piece mass produced set is $11K..........I'm gonna want some info about what the $31K was going to buy before whining about it.

And it ain't no accident CNN isn't telling.

I stand double corrected. I thought that set they bought was an 8-piece.

Which is why I mentioned Doorgate from last week which had absolutely nothing to do with the administration but turned out to be 100% a problem with the bloated procurement.
