People don't need someone monitoring it. They are capable of figuring out if they are getting facts.

Idk how I feel about this. Most of the country is retarded AF. For example, right now about 60% of people think a stimulus check is the answer to inflation.

I can tell you that you are better off with a bunch of voices explaining why that's not the case vs. the single voice (who wants dependency on govt) being the arbiter of it.

The solution, 100% of the time, is free speech and no censorship.

A real contender here for ignorant post of the day.

Once advertisers understand they aren’t critical to Twitter they will come back in droves. They need the audience after making their cheap headline about not advertising on Twitter.

Something something… we met with Twitter and expressed concerns… blah blah blah…Twitter assured us….

If they want to advertise to the 50% of this country that previously hated Twitter they will be back and I mean fast.

Just how this shite works.

They need to can the “promoted posts” feature. That is the most disinformation pushing thing on the platform. They allow whomever is willing to pay the ability to push a narrative to everyone. A lot of the posts were political or controversial articles from “news” organizations.

Twitter wouldn't even be in my top 50 as far as sources of factual information.

Because you're mistaking in thinking that Twitter, as an entity, is a source. Twitter is not a source. People are the source. Twitter is just the medium in which a source puts out their information.

A Newspaper article is a source. The paper it's printed on is the medium.

Elon Musk reminds me of Bono....good intentions at first, then they begin to believe their own hype...the power and praise feels good. Pretty soon they become the exact same people they rebelled against in the first place.

Wise people are seldom confused by irrational nuggets of data. People who are only interested in being spoon-fed data that fits their desired result are not wise.

I try to scan my most ardently held beliefs for 'holes' that need verification and seek out information on those areas - it is fairly easy to determine if an argument is making sense or not.

Of course you have to be honest with yourself - you must be looking for 'real' truth, vs only considering those things that back up your comfort zone and calling it 'verification' while refusing to consider any counter argument.

With respect to the progressive left wing radicals, they can NEVER engage in a debate on WHY their ideas are good - all they can do is throw ignorant smoke at those ideas they refuse to examine.

Just about any poster that bothers to reply is dam hostile. eth

You have zero clue how this plays out. Same as me. I say I don't like having another arbiter who claims he will sort out the truth and be the go to platform for truth. What is he even talking about? Everyone's talking up this crowd sourcing as if it's not the defacto way we do information already. That is how it's done. Someone posts a breaking story and everyone throws in their 2 cents and somewhere down the line we get to a point where everyone, mostly, accepts the conclusions.

There's a hundred other ways to interpret my post. You're just being sensational. And what I'm reading is there will still be meddling in public information the same as Twitter WAS doing. When you attempt to form the truth, and be the indispensable source (his words) of it, then you affect folks that don't read past the headline or first paragraph.

Twitter should be like TD. Information sandbox where you, me, BoarEd and everyone else can post anything within reason and be free from influence. I was hoping it would be hands off.

Im just a concerned citizen yall

Nope, he's not even a contender. With that being your only contribution here, the award is yours. Well earned.

I know it can work, but who’s going to filter it to find the one good one

YOU

The question here was where to go for information. I submit that the answer is anywhere that aggregates with as little filtering as possible.

Now here's the deal though. For any individual. You me or anybody else the bottom line regarding information is this. You have to have the ability to get the information and then do something with it. Getting the information isn't the last step it's the first. Then you have to be the one to analyze it. To question it. To apply your own critical thinking to it. How does it make sense in the larger picture of what you know? If you can't do that then it really doesn't matter where you go for information. Because you will never actually have any arguments or ideas of your own. You will only be repeating stuff you heard. In that case it doesn't matter if you're watching CNN Fox or calling me every morning.

ETA...... I also want to point out another advantage of the aggregating places. One of the ways media Outlets control how you think is by omission. They simply won't even talk about a subject that they don't want you to think about. You would be surprised how many people literally don't even know certain bits of information are out there being argued about. People who actually think they are informed because they have a favorite Channel.

Without bots and the threat of taking away advertisers... leftists will have to make their own arguments and try to convince others. It may be dark days for Twitter leftists.
