He said it because he knew it was superficially true ie Trump was in Epsteins phone and therefore could be defended in court.

Everyone says too many people in our country have become political extremists (either too far left or too far right)...BUT...no one ever thinks that they are one of the extremists.
This is a great litmus test to evaluate extremism.
With all of the evidence we have, and knowing the history of both men, if you aren't absolutely convinced that both Bill Clinton and Trump banged under age girls provided by Epstein, you are an extremist (one way or the other).
