What is the executives role in this? Explain in detail. Dummy.

CNN’s article on this defends the fact they never denied a payment as part of that teams “mission” that it was by design.
In what fricking planet does that make any sense, even IF true

I already have in this thread and others.
Congress has the power of the purse and impoundment is illegal. If you want to take scouts up on that you’re welcome to but bypassing checks and balances to service one’s political agenda is against everything the founders intended.

Exec branch does not have the authority to deny payments directed by leg branch. This was challenged and upheld by scotus in the 70’s.

At all?
Is foreign aid approved by congress? The president just paused it for review.

That’s a political question. Exec branch doesn’t get to frustrate the will of leg branch appropriations. Settled con law. If you want to challenge it then scotus is always there. Until then it’s illegal and unconstitutional.
I thought yall cared about the constitution?

3 There is a massive conflict of interest to have an industrialists with many business interests having access to sensitive payment systems
Can you show us where this industrialist' access and knowledge of government finances and sensitive payment systems which he is probing and executing cost savings has benefitted him directly?
Or is your concern that this auditing has truly uncovered federal graft and incompetence that harms the taxpayers that he and OMB have sworn to protect.

I bet Drac has never read the 10th Amendment: "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
In other words, 90% of what the federal government does is blatantly unconstitutional. But, no one cares. As long as 5 political hack justices stretch something like the commerce clause miles past what it was intended for, then the gravy train is open for business.

He’s one of the biggest beneficiaries of government contracts and having direct access to payment systems he can access insider knowledge about future contracts and spending priorities, which advantage his companies in bidding processes. He can access insights into competitor contracts and financial flows and potentially manipulate the “Do Not Pay” system, which could be used to blacklist competitors.

I have no problem with any of this, but the person doing it should be neutral and not ramping up crony capitalism to previously unseen levels.

How does that apply here? Be specific and make sure to take current scotus rulings into account.
