Elon Musk fires Don Lemon from X

The former CNN anchor Don Lemon announced on Wednesday that Elon Musk had abruptly terminated a deal to exclusively host Lemon’s new talkshow on X, formerly Twitter. Lemon said in a post on the platform that Musk cancelled the partnership hours after the two of them had filmed an interview, which was set to be part of the show’s debut episode. Lemon said Musk texted him, “contract terminated”
Musk did not deny axing Lemon’s show. The billionaire tweeted, “His approach was basically just ‘CNN, but on social media’,’ which doesn’t work, as evidenced by the fact that CNN is dying. And, instead of it being the real Don Lemon, it was really just Jeff Zucker talking through Don, so lacked authenticity. All this said, Lemon/Zucker are of course welcome to build their viewership on this platform along with everyone else.”

Don Lemon getting canned is fine by me.

Musk owned it and stated the reason. Hard to argue with that.
Don Lemon has shown to be a very personable person when on the street off the clock. Elon apparently knows this and noticed it.

Beside Jeff Zucker already stated in an interview he doesn't watch tv, much less CNN.
I do think Musk, who normally bats a thousand got this one wrong. It was always Don Lemon who was projecting his views... so either little Donnie lied during the interview or Musk didn't understand what he was getting... a gay, black man who loved his power.
PS - I so hope Trump wins, I plan to do a where are they now segment - including little Donnie = Chris and Andrew Cuomo and of course 'little brian' Stelter.

Is that the freedom of speech Elon was talking about? X has become his personal propaganda machine. The man constantly tweets that the media is not to be believed only to retweet hearsay and other reporting that aligns with his views. I see through his bs, but many just eat ti up because it sounds like the echo chambers they find comfort and solace in.

Lemon was negotiating with X regarding reimbursement for exclusive content. Lemon can still publish the identical content on X. Musk just won't pay him for exclusive rights.

It's a thin viel to create a right-wing propaganda machine. It's fine with you, because you align with many of the viewpoints. He shouldn't be forced to hire anyone--but he clearly has a preference and is constantly making decisions that go against his fair and free bs.

Yeah, I don't like/respect Elon because he's a warrior for free speech, an ultimate arbiter of what's fair/right/etc. Those who view him like that will be let down.
I like/respect him because he a) tells the truth on touchy topics far more than elite counterparts b) follows through on big claims/dreams, be it buying Twitter or going to space and c) does cool stuff with his money that makes the country (and the internet) a more interesting place to be.
In a world where so many of our influencers and elites do absolutely nothing productive and promote misery and self loathing, Elon definitely makes things more fun.
