Impeachment is a double-bladed sword. While it can cut going forward, many forget it can cut on the reverse swing as well.

When the Republicans re-take the House in 2020, I fully hope they bring Ethics charges against at least Nadler and Schiff for the blatantly politically biased way they've conducted their Impeachment-related hearings (completely diverging from rules and procedures) with an eye toward Expulsion (not just Censure).

I would also like to see Nancy brought up on similar charges as -being Speaker during all of this- she has allowed it to continue.

Republicans will want to move past it, sadly.

When the US electorate voted Dems back into the House, they either knew or should have known that Impeachment would happen and THEY voted for this.

History never EVER forgives ANY electorate that makes the wrong decision, regardless of whether the wrong decision is made out of malice or ignorance. See for example: Germany, 1933.

While I think you're probably right, we can only hope this charade finally shows Republican politicians that Democrats will never play nice and the only way to beat them is to fight fire with fire

I don't think the Democrats think this is an even remote possibility. It will be interesting to see if the Republicans can claw back some of those districts they lost. If not, we are in trouble.

I agree that his is very wishful thinking and that his declarative statement is at best a "hope".

It wont. They're all getting rich on the same money. The common swamp RINO has no spine.

Do none of you pay attention to history?

Go see what happened the last time a party tried a bullshite impeachment.

I think they're wrong. The longer this Impeachment fiasco has gone on, the more the President's poll numbers have risen. As more things like the IG's report comes out and the GOP can easily show the vast contrast between its findings and things like Schiff's multiple claims of having a "absolute evidence" of the Trump campaign colluding with Russia in the 2016 election cycle, I think that support for Trump grows. Throw in whatever Durham finds and any possible charges which stem from that and we have the makings of a scenario where the GOP swings the House back to red in a bigly way.

Yeah. That’s what we need. Our government pissing away millions more perpetually investigating each other.

We could turn our Congress into the circle-jerk Hollywood version of the Emmys.

I haven't seen anything that gives me hope that the Republicans will grow a spine and fight back.

Angry Grandma's way out will be a public dementia "diagnosis", in an attempt to generate sympathy when she's no longer in a position to abuse her power.
