While it shouldn't be illegal, it's wildly disgusting. 15 year difference is one thing, but 23-38 is nuts.

This is also dumb as frick. Adults get to make their own decisions. 23 is plenty old enough to make decisions.

In some states this is statutory rape.

It’s a two year rule.

Your hubby needed to be 19 or 18 for it not to be.

So yeah your husband could be a rapist.

This is one of those instances you can't win. You either let people use the incorrect terminology and perpetuate it being incorrectly used or correct them and be branded a pedophile yourself because you simply pointed out the word they used is not correct.

Developing sexually =/= developing mentally.

Pursuing underage girls is preying on the mentally vulnerable.

Because we've derailed the thread I think we've all kind of missed that the worst part of Peter's post was him choosing to admit the underage girl thing. I mean look at what happened to Judge Kavanaugh with mere accusations.. why the frick would you admit this?

Which is why both are a crime

It's amazing to me how people can just talk/type/post and not give any thought to what they're actually typing.

Like - this guy got to where he is over the course of his entire career. Then he just casually throws something out there like this.

+1

Why even weigh in on this if you're Schiff?

Could it be he feels obligated to defend tribe members and certain elites?

Rationalizing about stuff like this in public is senseless for Schiff -- unless he' trying to create a bit more guilt-space and acceptance for the Pedo Movement-light on behalf of self-entitled (perverted) older men.

In most states there is a marriage exception to the general age of consent and "Romeo and Juliet" laws. Just FYI

Two year olds make decisions. Their brains aren’t fully developed either.

In the case of the OP.

The guy says I was in college and slept with underage girls.

I mean, you shouldn’t be saying that publicly even if you think it’s okay.

Might as well use that term. I mean shite when I was in the military when we were receiving sexual assault prevention training they confidently informed us that if you had sex with a woman who was legally drunk that it was rape. Which of course pretty much makes everybody on the planet a rapist minus a few people. I mean legally drunk? As in 08 in some states? LOL okay

And choosing to measure degrees of inappropriateness of sexual assault is… intelligent?

It’s pedantic and bizarre.

Sure, if they didn’t have sex until marriage.

But at one point she was prob 16 and he 20.

Unless she met and married the guy at 17 and had sexual relations after marriage.

Well, it wasn't that way 25yrs ago, although my mother had to sign off on it.

I can guarantee you my husband never raped me.

I feel blessed times were a little different then as I couldn't imagine my life without him by my side.

Actually....

quote:

Peter Schiff #1 Tweet:

"I'm not defending Epstein. But he had sex with teenage girls, 14-17 that had physically developed sexually. They were underage, so criminal and immoral,. but that does not make him a pedophile."

quote:

Question.. would a 19yr old hooking up with a 17yr old be criminal in your mind, or especially immoral? Where's your line drawn in order to call a man an immoral predator?

O course not; It's a matter of proportion. At that age the emotional-mental level is still more or less compatible.

However, age 16-17 / 19 is NOT 16-17 / 30-35+. If you don't realize this you're lacking common sense and discernment.

I’m guessing you are older now. Not still in 30s?

It’s a thing now to have consent forms. Dating is crazy in today’s world.

Statutory rape is consensual sex with someone not of age to legally consent.

So not forceable rape. But still rape in the court.

So no context to this? Was he 18 and sleeping with a 17 year old or a 23 year old grad student sleeping with a 15 year old?

See how being imprecise with language is important. Because those two situations are massively different but fall under the umbrella of being in college and sleeping with underage girls.
