During the board meeting to renew Narcisse's contract, a board member announced that she had received threats if she did not vote to renew. "You'll never work in this town again." After that comment, Gravy stepped up to the microphone and stated he sent those threatening messages.

The board, inexplicably, voted to not renew Narcisse's contract, 5-4. Altogether, the contract proposal was for nearly $500k per year, a substantial increase over his current salary when teachers, bus drivers and cafeteria workers are getting scraps. The finance officer has previously told the board that district administration is spending money they don't have.

Sito Narcisse is the East Baton Rouge school system’s superintendent. There was a vote on whether or not to renew his contract for next school year. One of the school board members reported receiving threats that if she didn’t vote yes, someone will sabotage her career, no specifics given. Gravy stood up and said he sent the threat (according to the above post, i have no other source for this info) Gravy is the nickname for Gary Chambers, one of the most obnoxious local race hustlers. The nickname refers to his morbid obesity. Idk much about Sito Narcisse but if he has Gravy threatening to break professional kneecaps for him, he loses my respect. Narcisse had problems recently including a bus driver strike and a “senior day” which ended up including religious instruction, which pissed off some parents.

ETA i watched some of the meeting on YouTube and it did happen that way. It’s quite a cast of characters in those meetings. Interesting to watch.

When the primary defense of a contract extension is that Narcisse is black, you know things will get contentious.

Gravy is little more than an extortionist these days. See Whitney Bank.

On Youtube, it’s the East Baton Rouge School Board meeting for Dec 7, 2023. The vid is like 4 hours long but you can fast forward through their closed sessions where it’s silent and all they show is the crowd.

Effectively no one who posts on this site utilizes the EBR School System.

Admitting to threatening an elected official ?

Seems like Sheriff Sid should be placing some handcuffs on some wrists.

It wasn’t a threat of physical violence. It was a political threat.

I don’t think that’s illegal. But maybe I’m wrong?

Other board members made allusions to threats of coercion. Another board member said that they and their child who is an EBRPSS student were threatened. It's not hard to figure out who that board member is.

One reason why I made this post is to show an example of what I believe to be going on across the country at all levels of govt. People are being threatened for not toeing the line.

I wonder if Americans will ever do anything about it. I don't think the culprits are going to suddenly grow a conscience and stop being corrupt. What will it take for people to rise up and do something? How much more brazen do the criminals have to be?

Those meetings are a clown show, and a farce. The school board has already decided how they will vote before the meeting has even convened. They only take public opinion because they have too.
