If you attended an Easter service , was the controversy surrounding the Pope’s supposed comments addressed?

If so, what was said?

I’m curious the response at the parish level and what is the current stance regarding Francis.

Does the Pope declaring there is no Hell only affect Catholics? Or, does Hell still exists for the rest of us?

No. The message at Easter was He is risen, Hallelujah—as it should be.

Do other faiths give credence to what the Pope says ? Other faiths get their marching orders from the Vatican?

Oh, it definitely exists for non-Catholics. I wouldn't worry about that my friend.

Agreed, but I am curious as to whether anyone asked for clarity or perhaps the local churches felt a need to address.

Didn’t go to church on Easter. I’m effectively atheist.

No. That was my sarcastic point.

Easter Mass was about Christ and His resurrection.

The Vatican has supposedly denied the accounts of what was said in the interview. Basically saying that the Pope never said there is no hell.

I'm thinking the administrators allowed these threads to go on during Easter week out of leniency, but they will probably be whacked in short order.

not from my perspective- I think it’s a real issue inside the Catholic Church (I’m Catholic) and wanted to know how it’s being dealt with , if at all, at ground zero.

Why do you continue to believe that the Pope actually literally said “There is no hell”?

I don't really care if he said it or not.

My question is inappropriate in some way ?
I frequent this board and find that difficult to believe , but perhaps I’m missing something.

Why would you do away with my question?

Which is what? Following only the Bible which was published by the Catholic Church?

Because the Catholic Church starts on Vatican City and there isn’t much latitude to deviate.
His statements concern me in that it’s a major departure from church doctrine.

I went to the Easter Saturday night vigil Mass in Bay City, Texas. No mention of that in the two hour, 30 minute Mass.
