Now what...what?

I just moved back to EBR from ascension. My kids were going to private schools anyway, but it won't prevent me from wanting EBR to have a good school system. It appears the only way to accomplish that is to incorporate and create your own. EBR has proven they're pretty incapable of providing good schools for all kids within the parish, not just the ones who are able to get into magnet programs.

Uh huh, then watch what happens when the white flight and the tax base fleeing EBR gets worse and worse.

You're not going to be able to annex your way out of that.

I'd bet 50 bucks that Chauna Banks's dumbass asks if there is a way to annex portions of LP and AP since EBRP residents are moving there.

I didn't sign the petition last time around but I will this time. If anything, we need to disassociate the parish government from BR City

You're arguing against a persons right to choose. I know you're a big government nanny state leach, but even leaches should have some sort of common sense every once in a while. So sad for you.

you say that and yet i bet you don't think i should be able to vote on your move, even though it would completely affect me as i live about 100 yards from the proposed city

It's getting about time to move to Ascension Parish.

I'm moving back to the AP next month.

Long story but been in Lafayette Parish the past two years. When it was determined we had to move back to BR, my wife and I made damn sure we would end up back in AP and not EBR after seeing the clown show running the city.

PS - I voted for Holden twice when I lived in EBR, so the SJWs here can hold off on the racist comments.

I'm sure property taxes in St. George will be lovely.

You shouldn't. If you don't live in the proposed area, you shouldn't get a vote.

there should be an update of parish boundaries to the living patterns of 2017, as opposed to the lines drawn when it was all farms. Do we really need 64 parishes in 2017?

I can see consolidating the low density parishes, but combining AP or LP and EBRP would start a fricking war.

Oh, you mean those two areas of EBR that were allowed to incorporate and form their own school districts?

populations:

Central - 27k
Zachary - 15k
St. George - 130k

does that make it easier to comprehend?

Member when the Council on Aging got caught editing donation checks to siphon donation funds from their charity arms to their illegal Super PAC which campaigned for the sitting mayor, governor, and multiple metro-council members who have all supported levying the COA tax increase even after the COA was caught stealing money from old ladies, forging checks, taking lavish vacations, billing excessive overtime, and just generally flaunting any and all ethics laws? I member.

what is the issue with their thinking?

i just don't see how this is a criticism of a legit movement that BR/EBR needs to have happen

Yeah, calling out the MC for trying to steal a large tax base that ruins the viability of a SG incorporation is a legitimate gripe.

The Marcellos gang v. the Council on Aging Crew would be a pretty entertaining battle, though.

Makes it easier to see why St. George needs an independent school district. Look at all those kids who are having to suffer in EBR schools.

Why should you be able to vote on whether others want to incorporate?

People have a right to self determination.
