That sounds like an amazing success story. I’m truly happy for him.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. All of life is risk calculation. My parents got vaccinated so that they could attend my woke sister’s wedding and not cause her or her woke guests any discomfort. That was their calculation. They would rather die from vaccine side effects than offend her. And I’m being quite literal.
My daughter got the vaccine because she was in her next to last year of med school.
I don’t think it’s appropriate to compare the risks of a person with severe kidney disease to the risks of the vaccine as equal.
I still think the hospital is stupid.

And you're a fricktard. Cucks like you want to trash Fauci, and rightfully so. But you give Cuck #1 a pass for leaving that piece of shite on the job, saddling us with four years of his tyranny. frick you, and frick the rest of you who would gladly suck that cuck's cock every morning.
If Trump had fired Fauci (which I would’ve supported), you would have been first in line proclaiming “He has to know there would be blowback! It doesn’t look good. This is off-the-cuff. This man has no plan. I now support his impeachment.”
So shut the frick up.

The whole thing points out how divisive the rushed vaccine and mandatory statuses have been. It’s truly been divisive for this country.
Personally, I believe both are being stupid. The hospital yes and the parents because they could go get NovaVAX and then do the surgery.

It’s all a ridiculous theater production.
It makes you crazy when you try to make sense of it.

Even if we assume there is a risk in getting a Covid vaccine (and there is), that risk is far less than the risks associated with their daughter not getting a kidney transplant.
Apparently they have time. They can extend the child's life through dialysis (albeit inconvenient and expensive) while waiting for the political winds to change.

I think you are correct here. But doctors have to deal with stupid patients all the time.

Under federal law, Trump doesn’t have the power to directly fire Fauci, a career civil servant, and remove him from government. And while Trump could try ordering his political appointees to dismiss the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Fauci could appeal – a time-consuming process.

We had doubts at the time about Fauci, but they weren't cohesive or anything close to what we know now. People are unable to separate their hindsight from what we knew at the time and what made the most sense then.
