They both want to take down the west and see their partner as a useful idiot in the process.
It ends up like the meme where the communist soldier tells the tranny (who is pleading that they were an activist for the revolution) to stand up against the wall.

They are running an ad with him as a populist hero endorsed by Bernie and AOC. So, on one hand that's pretty scary. But, then one of the hit piece ads says he trashes women like Michelle O and Whitmer, so maybe he is kind of based.

Islam went through its own socialist phase. Their language is basically to lift all Muslims from oppression. Their oppressors are all non-Muslims.
Also in Muslim countries it might be illegal to be gay but not trans.
