It’s hard to see how Vance has more electability than Rubio. Rubio could bring back traditional republicans and secure a good section of MAGA. If the DEMs nominate a crazy the he could even pick up some moderates over there. Vance could hold together some of MAGA and then bring in the far right. I don’t see a world in which Vance secures more votes than Rubio.
And here's the thing...regardless of what posters here think about the war, it is very unpopular wit many Americans, especially in swing states. Even though Vance privately advised against it, he has at times been more of the public face of it than Rubio. Rubio has managed to be able to stay quiet.
The strongest elecorally will be the one who can keep those swing state voters opposed to the war.

Anyone attached to Trump is going to have a hard sell in 2028 in the general.
I don’t know if there’s a republican who can win the primary that will do well in the general.
Which is sad because that increases the chance we end up with some bullshite dem ticket that wins by default, like AOC/Sanders or some shite

That's going to be an issue if Iran doesn't get resolved cleanly soon. Rubio would not be able to distance himself from that. Vance might try to say he was a dissenting voice.

Vance is going to have to answer for going from calling Trump “americas Hitler” to simping for him.
American voters always overcorrect, they’re going to place a high value on “integrity” and continuity of messaging in 2028, IMO. Policy will matter less than it has in the past.
