A PhD literally makes one a doctor, but I see your point, not a retard. But a retard could “earn” a doctorate degree.
It’s not hard to imagine what kind of nonsense would be found in a dissertation on education. Did you know LSU has a PhD program for education? For theatre? A PhD in theatre. Who would actually pay for something like this?
Several close people in my inner circle are medical doctors, but they don’t call themselves “doctor”. When someone asks what they do, they say “I’m a physician”.
