Again...reading comprehension...

It was a survey (opinions) of 6227 physicians. There was a question "How many of you have prescribed or seen used"; 41% answered that they have used HCQ/Chloroquine. OF THOSE who have used it, only 37% say it was the most effective drug they have prescribed. No one is talking about the 32% of physicians globally who answered "Nothing" is effective...

I don't think it's hatred but a just lack of respect for the doctor's opinions. He has kinda been all over the place with those opinions.

This guy is one of the very few persons who Trump has allowed to parry and try to clarify and explain some of the the knuckleheaded stuff that came out of Trump's mouth during the first couple of weeks of this crisis.

Of course he is going all over the place. Trump did not allow his staff to have a consistent message. If he had, Fauci would look pretty careful, and pretty consistent.

99.98% of the posters on this board do not know how to read medical literature or interpret medical speak. I used to try to explain stuff but that took too much effort.

At what point does a person take personal accountability with this thing.....

It’s the same thing it was a month ago, dangerous for old people with pre-conditions, nothing has changed, wash you f’ing hands and don’t touch your face....

There were 7 men and 4 women with a mean age of 58.7 years (range: 20-77), 8 had significant
comorbidities associated with poor outcomes (obesity: 2; solid cancer: 3; hematological
cancer: 2; HIV-infection: 1)

I would think that most of these folks were somewhat screwed from the get-go. I expect nothing would have been very beneficial for these patients.

I wonder how long it will take for the data to come out of New York?

Ain’t this the truth. It’s an uphill battle but those of us in the medical community owe it to the public to share the knowledge we have on this subject. Sharing facts doesn’t mean we’re anti-Trump but unfortunately it’s perceived that way because this board is a massive echo chamber. And to be honest that’s kind of why I frequent it. I don’t think most of the posters realize that the majority of docs that post on this board are in fact Trump supporters. We’re on the same team here guys. We don’t want to see y’all get sick.

Y’all need to understand that plaquenil is used but depending on the severity of the infection and how early treatment is issued greatly depends on the effectiveness of the treatment. What I I can say is that I’m seeing mixed results in patients that were treating. Some it does absolutely no good.

Don’t you know that Donald Trump has more medical expertise in his little finger than Dr. Fauci ever had. Just ask him.lol. Some of you seem incapable of viewing this pandemic in any way other than it’s about Trump and agreeing with Trump. Very strange.

He was saying that with all the crying about not enough vents, that the vents are not really improving the situation for the patients going on them. He was saying this is the story no one was telling and writing about.

Maybe docs should be intervening earlier with hydroxy was what he was trying to say without saying.

This was something a particular poster couldn't be made to understand, no matter what anyone told him, earlier today.

You can either let people die, who are clearly not being helped by whatever doctors are currently doing for them, or you can give them HCQ, and give them a chance. But all he could do was praise Fauci for holding steadfast to testing guidelines, because FAUCI hasn't yet tested and approved of it, even though many others have. He argued that Fauci wasn't preventing anyone from prescribing it, but he knows good and well that until something is approved, doctors will be reluctant. If Fauci were a real medical scientist, worth anything, he'd be personally seeing to it that whatever further testing that needs to get done, happens, so people can get help. Instead, Fauci poo poo's it.

I just don't understand how anyone can be so ignorant. Fauci doesn't want the spotlight off of him. He enjoys the panic, and feeling like he's in control. No, I'm not a mind reader... But I sure as heck know how to translate a person's actions and see what their motivations are. The guy has deep state written all over him.

Yes we do have the responsibility to share the knowledge, but it is pointless. Therefore, I'm invoking the physician's right to refuse treatment due to futility.

Correct. I have an MD and a MAGA hat, but the posters that start threads like this do not care.

Why does Dr. fricki want more Americans to die?

What does it have to do with his political ties?

Need answers

At first I accepted his "science minded" approach, but as time has passed and I've heard more from him...

He is critical of the Hydroxychloroquine because it was not developed for this particular use (off label prescription) and it hasn't been rigorously tested on Wuhan virus patients with a control group.

Now he is advocating the use of other(newer) drugs that were developed for Ebola or AIDS (off label prescription) and haven't been rigorously tested on Wuhan virus patients with a control group.

WHY?
Is this a money making opportunity for pharmaceutical companies?
Are these newer drugs still under patent?
Will patients with Insurance get the patented drugs and patients without Insurance get Hydroxychloroquine?

We have an 80 year history of the side effects of Hydroxychloroquine, which makes it appear to be safer than any of the newer drugs.
