Do you recall when Trump bashed John McCain for being shot down over enemy territory? That was Vietnam. Even more dangerous than Iran considering the SAM threat.

I've always found it so weird that the public cares so much about downed fighter pilots/planes. Is it be ause they're officers?
If a Humvee hits a mine and a couple of enlisted joes get killed, it's barely a blip on the news. As an Abrams tank crewmember for over 20 years, I always thought it was interesting.

For one, a downed pilot behind enemy lines is by himself.
A humvee 99% of the time is with a convoy or at least others. Tanks the same thing.
But yeah, I'm sure the hollywood effect is there to some degree.

nope what happened to the tail insignias and if your thinking that could be the antenna housing on top of the tail section look again
the tail flash {the colored stripe below the antenna housing) if they have one is not incorporated into the housing it's self, those remain gray

The fact that it’s this far into this operation and this is the first bird downed by enemy fire is unreal.
If we do have a downed air crew I pray to god the TRAP team gets to them before the Iranians do.

Because an American on the run in enemy territory who, if captured, faces torture and a painful death is much more horrifying than someone who gets gets killed in an IED. It has nothing to do with officers / enlisted, so you can remove the chip from your shoulder.

We don't have any Humvees or Tanks in theatre at this point. So this just comes across as a little out of left field. I think most people don't want to see American troops die regardless of their job or role. But as a Cav Scout I do realize that tankers do typically think everything should revolve around them.
