My bad. They gave Trump his Uncle's medal he had previously won before presenting medals to recipients.
1983 National Medal of Science recipient, Dr. John G. Trump,”
quote:
“Some scientists transform medicine. Some help win wars. John G. Trump did both,” the video began, before continuing:
Born in the Bronx, John G. Trump arrived at M.I.T. in 1931 to work with Robert Van de Graaff, then building the world’s most powerful generators. Trump’s research used vacuum tubes and compressed gas to produce high-voltage for powerful X-rays, then used for the first radiation treatments for cancer. And then came the war.
Trump helped found the radiation laboratory hosted at MIT, the center of America’s war radar effort, of a size and complexity rivaling the Manhattan Project. Trump led the lab’s British branch, and on D-Day, his radars jammed German defenses, marked drop zones, and guided bombers through cloud cover. Gen. Carl Spatz called Trump’s work, ‘One of the most important factors contributing to our success.’
Peace did not slow him. Trump returned to M.I.T. and cofounded the High-Voltage Engineering Corporation, which brought radiation cancer treatments to hospitals worldwide, and became the world’s leading supplier of research particle accelerators. John Trump received the National Medal of Science for his life’s work, bringing the widespread beneficial application of ionizing radiation to medicine, industry, and atomic physics, posthumously presented by president Ronald Reagan to his son. John Trump devoted his life to pushing his country’s science and technology forward. Today, we honor those who do the same.
quote:
“So today, we have the privilege of honoring six luminaries with our nation’s highest honors for scientific advancement and innovation, the National Medals of Science and National Medals of Technology and Innovation,” Kratsios continued, before welcoming to the stage Sergey Brin, Jensen Huang, Elon Musk, Lisa Su, Michael Dell, and Satya Nadella.

Keep it up, they’re happy to post every single nonsensical smear attack on him. Turnabout is fair play.

The White House posted a nice video tribute to him. Interesting stuff in there. I had read about some of his uncle's achievements, but there were more I wasn't aware of. Apparently his work with radar was critical during WW2.

I've been at this for years now. People think I can be confrontational now, they won't be able to handle me at all when the "turnabout" phase actually gets here.
Am I confrontational? You bet your arse I am. And it's well earned at this point having to listen to these same cocksuckers say the same stupid shite for going on 10 years now.

Here's one of them now. Only I've barely even registered this guy. Mostly he's just annoying because he's made like 11 million posts and near as I can tell not a single one of them has any sort of depth to it at all. Just a bunch of snarky, bitch-arse one liners.
Posted on 10/8/26 at 4:51 pm to BoarEd
He is a democrat like foghat.
Posted on 10/8/26 at 4:52 pm to BoarEd
I don’t know what he’ll do with himself when he can no longer say that (the one liners) at all, because they’re no longer relevant at all. And that applies to a good many of them among us here. Very interesting, I can’t wait to watch it unfold in real time.

I fully expect that a lot of them will simply quit posting here. There are some I will definitely make sure to remind them every time I see them post. The bookmark collection that several of us have now is vast.

I should have started a thread like it deserved. Sorry for almost derailing this one.

I would have posted that video, but I'm juggling doing a few different things at the moment. I don't think you've derailed anything. John Trump is absolutely pertinent to this thread and it's badass to see he was given an award today.

You don't need me. What on Earth should I or any of the rest of us say when the DoW and the WH have it covered?

FWIW, it wasn't bad. But... the pilot is 95% exactly what you think it is if you've seen the commercials.
