It's going to be a rocky summer IMO. We're now trading at June 2019 levels, when unemployment was 3.7%. At some point that reality will hit.

yeah but a fair amount of people are making more money now than they were when unemployment was 3.7%.

I'll start to worry if unemployment doesnt trend downwards after the $600 gibs me dats expires

Lauding the Dow is a trap. If it returns to its pre-virus level, but unemployment is still at depression levels, it will easily be played as Trump only caring about the rich Wall St. people.

What if they extend the $600 to 2021?

They won’t, but they may make a portion of it permanent for everyone.

I'm concerned....the Senate is already showing sign of "negotiating" on the Heroes Act....I'd imagine that the stimulus checks and extending the UI increase would be things they would keep....I hope I'm wrong.

Considering the completely bogus and unwarranted shutdown, and the fallout from it, this economy is still ready to absolutely explode.

It's truly incredible if you really think about it. Under any other president's policies, we would be third world already by now.

This is, of course, the day I need it to go DOWN (COB today is TSP share purchases for my retirement).

True that they will, but hard to get the middle class swing voters to buy in since many of them have 401k accounts.

Heroes act will be negotiated. Trump himself already expressed desire for another round of stimulus.

I feel like extending unemployment is a non-starter for him, though. But I may be wrong
