This is a joke, right? Maybe you should follow your own advice and turn off MSNBC and CNN for a day. Think differently than you do. Then, maybe you might understand why HRC destroying 33k emails, bleach bit, and hammers to phones while under investigation is a little "odd". And maybe you will start paying attention to the incredible strides this country has taken in the past year under DJT. Economy, tax cuts, NK sanctions and coming to the table...you know, that stuff your dear channels choose to ignore. Maybe you will question why it's been a year with no collusion...or why the DOJ/FBI has texts espousing their hatred for the president...and why the Special Counsel surrounds himself with these types...or maybe you will wonder why our government agencies are embedding agents into a political camp during an election run. You dont see this because CNN/MSNBC dont talk about it. If you do see it...and you dont think it is a big deal, then I question your sanity. C'mon man....

But Maher, as usual, has no facts, just emotion. He knows NOTHING about anything going on with the FBI. He assumes the FBI is infallible, Obama was the most honest president ever, and Hillary was some exquisite candidate that was robbed.
But Maher is right about one thing - the president IS above the law to some extent. But this didn't start with Trump and for him to pretend it did is laughable. The DoJ's official opinion and policy since the 70's has been that a president cannot be indicted.
Now why is the president given this deference? Because if he wasn't, every president would be constantly witch hunted, investigated and arrested. Do you not think that would happen? The founders didn't want some guy in Vermont to be able to prosecute a president. No, they wanted Congress to act, which is how it SHOULD be. Only elected officials should be able to prosecute another elected official, especially the president.

Maher is right, in a particular sense. I posted many times way back that the Reactionary Right is so pissed that they would elect an 'Adolph Hitler' if He'd promise to get rid of Obama/HRC/Progressive hegemony. Trump is keeping His promises to do so; and that is why we will continue support...especially in regard to the manufactured 'crimes' that the Progs employ.
The rigged Justice to give Hillary a pass and elect Her, and then used the "insurance policy" to take Trump out after She still lost. I watched the video and was less than impressed.
Maher showed at least his bias (if not outright ignorance) in comparing the Bill Clinton subpoena and a possible Trump subpoena. Clinton was subpoenaed as part of an investigation into a crime he was charged with committing prior to becoming President.
Trump has not only not been charged with anything but Mueller's boss Rod Rosenstien has flat-out stated he isn't even under investigation.
The contextual differences between the two are mind-numbingly simple to understand and help create a definitive framework for when a sitting President can and cannot be subpoena'd to testify. Anyone using this as an example of how they believe Trump (or any sitting President) is "above the law" is either purposely lying or doesn't understand the law.
