Where does it state criminal charges?
In the law, a "charge" refers only to criminal matters. The DOJ did not "file charges" against anyone...as much as I would like for them to have.

Let's not wait for the trial. Lock them up. They get the full J6 treatment.

She said, "filed charges".
She either misspoke or doesn’t know the difference between filing a lawsuit and filing criminal charges.

The title quotes the Attorney General.
She said, "filed charges".
Look at the video.
Did she? Thanks...I am always ready to be corrected, but that's an odd use of the term "filed charges."

new to this party - but I am not thrilled that our new AG making a big deal out of some lawsuit.
This is the kind of thing - if announced at all - would just be a note in some journal that keeps track of minutia.
I want the AG focusing her time and energy on criminal behavior within the deep state. And rip their hearts out when she finds it.

n Wednesday, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced that the Department of Justice has filed charges against New York Governor Kathy Hochul and state Attorney General Leticia James, both Democrats, for allegedly failing to enforce federal immigration laws.

Bad journalism doesn't decide things.
This is NOT a criminal action where someone will be thrown in jail...unless they are found in contempt of court or perjure themselves.

What was it that the Progfilth mindlessly chanted?
Oh yeah, now I remember...

She clearly misspoke. I figure she knows the difference.

I asked GROK:
In the context of government legal action, Does the term "file charges" mean exclusively criminal charges?
No, the term "file charges" does not exclusively mean criminal charges. In the context of government legal action:
Criminal Charges: These are filed by prosecutors when they believe there is sufficient evidence that a person has committed a crime.
Civil Charges: While less commonly referred to as "charges," government entities can also file civil lawsuits against individuals or entities for violations of civil laws, regulations, or statutes. This can include actions like fines, injunctions, or other remedies for breaches of civil obligations or administrative laws.
Therefore, "file charges" in a broader sense can refer to initiating legal action, which might be criminal or civil, depending on the nature of the violation and the authority of the government body involved. However, in common parlance, the term might more frequently imply criminal charges unless specified otherwise.

Speaking of bad journalism, I can't tell if the suit HAS been filed or WILL be filed.
I hope DOJ does as good a job of judge shopping as did Team Blue did to get Judge Englemayer as emergency judge for SDNY.
Already checked. The emergency judge for SDNY is an Obama appointee. Surely, they can find a rural division of WDNY with only one judge, who happens to be a Republican appointee.

That's what I wanted to know too. The vid is chopped, and Bondi misspoke.
They are serving up civil suits, not charges. I posted a link to the NY post article with a longer version of the video. I can't get it to imbed.
