Didn't he just earlier claim to have lowered prices on some things by 1,400%? Numbers aren't really his thing.

They do, but two months too late... he needs correct numbers at the correct time....
with good numbers now and later revised with Bad numbers, the fed get to say "current numbers are good so no rate drop".

Don't you understand that incorrect numbers caused multiple months of delay in that cut and we can't have that level of ineptness going forward if we expect to make the correct moves?
