Trumps actions, especially recently seem to indicate that the SOH is the one thing that is non negotiable for the US. Nukes can be decided in a couple months, regime change might happen at some point, ballistic missiles can be negotiated. Every purported deal has the strait being opened immediately and every time Iran says it is shut down they get a response, whether that is Project Freedom and the other similar actions or some crazy Trump tweet talking about ending civilizations and praising allah. I fear that closure of the strait is a bigger deal than most on this board will admit.

Everyone involved has said/admitted the world's oil supply cannot sustain the current traffic levels of the SOH. The only question is how long we have. Trump said 4 weeks. Maybe it's 8 if we're lucky. But that deadline is approaching.

I don't know if the world calamity hangs in the balance if the SOH is closed, but I can dang sure guarantee if Iran can develop an operational nuclear bomb and an ICBM to deliver it, I have no doubt they will point that thing at the United States and dare us to do what President Trump just did.

A radical Iran Islamic regime armed with a nuke changes..........everything.

You anti-trumpsters keep underestimating the resolve of Islam. In the corrupt thinking of Islam we (you and me) are infidels. They would not distinguish between our individual political persuasion - they would cut both our throats and chant "Allahu Akbar" as we bleed out.

Islam is an abomination.

Again

China has kept the world's petro economy afloat

Trump meets with Xi

Trump signs MOU immediately

Those may be coincidences but I would bet they're related.

I'm all set for the global economy to be brought to its knees thanks to your multiple warnings about it.

Are you prepared?

Iran overplayed their hand with the SoH. The gulf states are building alternative routes to move oil

No, they didn’t overplay their hand. If they hadn’t played that card they’d all be dead.

I still don’t understand how Iran “closes the straight”

Do they just say ‘it’s open’ ‘it’s closed’ and warn people about those secrets sea mines that are totally a real thing and STOP asking question?

The issue/crisis isn't how much petro costs in the US.

Maybe not, but the point is, government makes more on every gallon of gas than Exxon or Chevron. That’s a problem. Energy cost should be driven down at all cost to increase production and ability to create wealth.

As usual, government tips the scales to them and always at the expense of the consumer.

I don't disagree, but it still doesn't really play a part in this issue/discussion.

The world reserves are getting close to empty. This is a supply problem not a regulatory-price problem.

Disciplined Americans would survive, but the MSM would run right past thousands of them to get their cameras on some fat welfare heifer holding up her overweight toddler while screaming “we litrolly starving in here!!!”

People are too fragile to pay attention to any of that though. I distinctly remember college students absolutely melting when we were having our trade negotiations with China, because they thought they weren't going to be able to buy their Lululemon apparel. The irony of privilege was completely lost to them.

I made BANK trading on that shite. Lulu specifically.

It’ll be bedlam for sure. Economic knees will be bowed.
