And I could just as well argue the same thing for Biden. If Republicans had found actual dirt on Biden that suggested he had done something criminal, they would have taken it.

Do you honestly think this is the case?
As a presidential candidate, Biden's been under scrutiny and investigation since the day he announced his candidacy.
If there were legitimate claims that could bring him down, they would have been announced before the 2020 election even happened. The Trump campaign would have hired investigators and done their own investigations.
Use your own logic - it's not believable.

That isnt how it works. You dont get to assume Biden's "public scrutiny" as a political figure (which all political figures endure, BTW) is the equivalent of hostile state and federal level criminal investigations into your political actions, personal affairs, and business dealings spanning many years. They spied on him, embedded operatives in his inner circle, went after his kids, and jailed his associates on old FARA and Mortgage violations and they still couldn't find an actionable charge. There was a special counsel assembled to prove he was a fricking Russian spy who stole the American presidency, man! Get real.
And even if you want to lump the current Hunter probe in as an investigation of Joe, which it isnt, do you expect THIS lapdog FBI to bring a case that fricking Merrick Garland will pursue?
