That was protesting against forced bussing to force integration across political lines.
And the rock throwers were Northern Democrats!
Funny note: Yankees were all for forced busing until it crossed north of the Mason Dixon!

They may have been racist but they sure as hell were not Conservative's or even Republican. Boston been run by the D Party Machine for a Long Time. Boston has not had a R Mayor since 1926-30.

This is true. De-seg of public schools in the north were about 5 years behind de-seg in the south. Voluntary integration came first in the north. But forced pairing of schools and forced busing came much later in the north.

Conservatives have a recognizable leader that does not promote violence.
The group-think mob is leaderless and is literally taking its direction from Twitter and other forms of Fake News and social media.
If the mob doesn't eat each other up -- one possible consequence is a real rise in conservative Nationalism that will brutally eradicate them.
