Does anyone know if these statistics are true? I assume this is an Oklahoma Teacher.

They are correct.

Though, to be fair, if Newark and Camden weren't in NJ, they could brag about their education.
Those places make NOLA East look like paradise.

well, her list doesn't really have any defined terms for funding

is it total spending per pupil?
is it salaries & wages per pupil?
is it just total spending?

It actually doesn't matter in the implied context, imo.
What is the cultural breakdown of those areas? That may lend some insight.

A quick point, Utah is last in spending per student but somehow manages to have the 14th lowest incarceration rate.

Louisiana spends about $13K per student per year K-12. Thats $1.3M for a class of 100.

No correlation existing in the amount of money spent and the quality of the education.

Kids that want to learn and succeed, do. Kids that do not want to learn and succeed do not.

I'd say it's about the money in the sense that that is way too much money to be spending on such a poor product

All of that money isn't being spent on direct education costs that's for damn sure.

Why is this a big thing? It’s obvious. We have a lot of stupid mother frickers here. It’s fine. We have a lot of really smart people too.
