re: Does anyone here on this board have the balls to say they oppose weed legalization?

I oppose it. Where exactly does the line stop? How can you legalize one drug and not the others? Plus weed stinks horribly. If I wanted to smell a skunk, I’d go kick one.

Not me. I used to sell it in 1/4 lbs from 17-20. Smoked it daily for probably 15 years.
Don’t really smoke anymore because of possibly drug tests for work.
I’ve always thought it should be legal but taxed. Also believe any business should have the right to test for it if they do choose.

This is the lunacy I'm trying to hold back.
Benefits for adults dying from AIDS outweigh the cons. Benefits for adults going through chemo outweigh the cons.
But for casual, recreational users? No fricking way. And, as I said earlier, the more you use, the worse it is.
I'm not talking about aging hippies who burn a couple of joints a week. Or even middle aged hipsters who might double that. We all know that a decent portion (15, 20 percent) of those who get into it early and like it - go too far (like Americans do with anything) - you know? Those folks who smoke as much as they can get their hands on - all day, every day if they can.
And that's going to be a problem when it is everywhere. You don't have to believe it for it to be true. And we're all going to be picking up the bill for those folks being unemployable and sick all the fricking time.

Meh. I'm not convinced that either smoking or eating MJ products is categorically "safer" than alcohol.
you're very ignorant

It is just like like the whole sexuality thing. We have to accept transgender people because they were born that way.
Next it will be we have to accept beastiality or pedophilia

Nice rebuttal. Yeah, buddy, my middle name is ignorant.

A rebuttal isn't required for something that stupid. Seriously, that's a retarded statement.

Correct. It has already happened with cigs and alcohol.

Everyone, here's a good example of the Trump voters that do smoke and sell weed that we were telling you about.
Good and successful people use and smoke pot and they aren't any more evil after doing it.
Think about them before you go all "frick the lazy potheads".

It's taken 90 years from the end of Prohibition to even have a serious discussion of legalizing MJ. I'm not convinced that slope is as slippery as you think.

I don't understand how having fewer laws leads to more crime. The illegality of drugs does not stop very many people from using. Masses of people aren't going to suddenly start doing cocaine just because it is legal.

You are fooling yourself if you think that more people won't try it when legalized.

Use of Cigarettes has actually gotten a huge trashy stigma and it's actually declined a ton in recent decades to the point where quitting smoking is one of the most popular new years resolutions.
And we're doing it without spending millions of dollars to put millions of people in jail for it.
Alchohol? Do you not remember how disastrous prohibition went?

Because of billions of dollars spent on research and education and healthcare bills so that people finally realized how truly awful it is for you.

Of course I do. It would be pretty much impossible to make alcohol straight up illegal. Just like they couldn't magically outlaw cigarettes. Billions a year are also spent telling people to drink responsibly.
Yet you want to open Pandora's box with weed.

Actually in Colorado, there has been studies that teenagers smoking pot has fallen significantly after legalization happened.
Amazing what can happen when you treat it as a public health issue and spread more awareness on the safe and responsible use of it instead of just throwing people in jail for it.
Posted on 1/5/18 at 12:18 am to SG_Geaux
Try it? Maybe. The majority of adults have tried it as it is.
But to think significantly more will become hopeless, unemployable reefer addicts is laughable. Teen marijuana use has actually decreased in Colorado.

Fair enough. It has also increased among young adults, supporting what I said about more people will be willing to try it when legal, and there are studies that show the younger you start smoking the greater the chances of it messing up your brain as you get older.
