To those making the case for legalization of marijuana, do you think we should make opiod painkillers available over the counter?

Also do you think it has benefitted society to have greater access to painkillers over the past 15 years? Why shouldn't non-addictive painkillers be available like recreational marijuana?

do you know what an understatement is? like 1 in 10 is an acceptable number. did you see the stats for adolescent use? if it's widely legalized, the number of addicted people could climb into the hundreds of thousands. but hey, it's only 1 in 10.

so you highlight the uncertainty of the risk and then use that for a claim that no one has died. the obvious question is, how do you know?

there is LOTS of acknowledgement that studying the effects of recreational marijuana use is not easy for multiple reasons. still, that shouldn't deter us from erring on the side of caution.

but i'm probably discussing this with a pothead so i'm not sure what the point is. marijuana can cause irrationality so it's like talking to a brick wall.

so now instead of having just the illegal problem, now we've exacerbated the issue by allowing pretty much anyone to get it at any time. so let's throw gas on the fire. makes sense
