None of it has.
The only reasons to support the drug war are
We dont have a drug war. We have a pretend war.
We want to end it we could.

To the tune of about 40+ billion a year. This doesn't include aid given to Columbia and other countries. For what?
You cannot stop the flow.

Is treatment up 60%? Yes. Who is paying for it. There is the problem hero.
OK, hero. Read this WHOLE post and maybe you'll catch up.
The penal system is flooded with nonviolent drug offenders (housing and feeding inmates is expensive, BTW). There are separate courts specifically tasked with drug litigation. There is an entire branch of the federal government tasked with enforcing drug laws.
The government mechanism responsible for drug enforcement (just in Marijuana cases) costs taxpayers $20 BILLION annually.
Tell me, what's more expensive a $20 billion annual bill, or a 60% increase in treatment for addicts?
You're a smart guy. I'm sure you can see you've lost this fight.

No... it wont. The problem here is the fact that you want your freedom, but then want others to pay for it when people get hooked.

The problem is that I didnt hook you, and should not be responsible for your actions.

Sounds like he needs to look at himself and realize his weakness.
I'm still one of the best drivers on the road when on my "meds".

Link?
I prefer people pay for it themselves
However, we've spent a trillion on the losing drug war, rehab is muuuuch less expensive

Nope. That is what people are advocating with healthcare burden that will... WILL come with legalized drugs.

- build wall.
- kill the cartels by treating them as terrorists
- label them as a foreign army.
Start taking them out literally. It will end

And it will be cheaper than prohibition.
Imagine that. Safer, cheaper and....FREEDOM

Yes. It will. It takes literally 30 seconds of research to prove that point.

No. I want fewer people in prison (freedom for nonviolent pot offenders), more people clean (freedom from addiction), increased tax revenue (freedom from increased individual income tax), a decreased burden on the penal and healthcare systems (see above), a brand new multi-billion dollar industry (freedom to contract) which will create many thousands of jobs (freedom from poverty).
Freedom for all.

Marijuana is not a physically addictive substance. Just concede this point. It's not even an argument anymore.
Also, you're making up this increased financial burden. Basic mathematics refutes the point you're trying to make.

With that much money out there to be made there will ALWAYS be others ready to fill the gap.
Decriminalize everything and in 10 years the value will bottom out and there won't be a reason to import cocaine and heroin.

Kill people for selling a plant
You really are economically illiterate. Killing the cartel will drive up the cost of drugs and make society more dangerous. The demand is never going away.
You need a simple macro class
