Personally, I don't give a shite what government another country has. I don't care what they do to their people. It's not the USA's eternal problem or mission to save everybody everywhere, or even anybody anywhere.

If they are nice to us, fairly treat our products and businesses, don't antagonize us, respect American citizens in their country and generally don't encroach into our sphere of influence (North America and maybe S America too) then I don't give a flying frick if their judiciary is elected, or if their greatest desire is to invade Tajikistan.

Promoting democracy globally is a ruse, an Orwellian term used by those in power to convince naive liberals that it's ok to bomb women and children because we're the good guys.

We aren't a democracy.

How about just be an example of a good democratic republic for them?

They can decide if that is what they want or not.

Democracy is only possible if a country is made up of people that are tolerant to those that have differing beliefs/views/opinions etc. The cultural profile is the most important element. This disqualifies many countries.

We can promote democracy without having to raid, topple, and rebuild nations. I know most of the establishment doesn't understand that, but its possible.

We should promote our way of life, but if we are rejected by a people, frick dem. We shouldn't do business with them. Economic advantage is the best way to promote democracy and the American way.

The United States works under the arrogant assumption that everyone around the world wants Democracy and even worse, that they want the type of democracy that we think they should have.

Maybe they don't

Democracy is the God that Failed. It's not something any right thinking person should advocate for, and all over the world we see democracies that suffer immense instability and lack of production.

"Democracy", in tandem with the word "regime" is merely a way that the deep state and elites refer to rogue nations/states in order to gain support for interfering in their lives.

Democracy has nothing to do with freedom. Democracy is a soft variant of communism, and rarely in the history of ideas has it been taken for anything else.

If the right to vote were expanded to seven year olds … its policies would most definitely reflect the ‘legitimate concerns’ of children to have ‘adequate’ and ‘equal’ access to ‘free’ french fries, lemonade and videos.

Hans-Hermann Hoppe

Democracy is the Tyranny of the Elites, shrouded by the idiocy of the masses.

Disagree. Democracies are far better for the US than say: china, russia, Iran, N. Korea etc.

Name a problem state, it isn't a democracy. Hell, the latest wave of immigration are because of the failed democracy in Honduras.

That said, there is a HUGE gulf between promoting democracy and the foolish attempt to set up a democracy through military intervention.

Most of the countries we do this in don't want and can't handle freedom. There's a large portion of this country that can't handle it. We need to focus on our own first.

Democracy is only possible in countries where the average IQ is 95 or above.

I had to read this 5 times to make sure what you are actually advocating for.

Lemme get this straight:

Problem states for the US are "not democracies" (false, but I'll go with it), so the conclusion is "not a democracy = problem"?

Honduras is a democracy, and a terrible state so the conclusion is "need better democracy"?

Much confusing here.

Well I agree that democracy won't be good for those states, though the democratic aspects of America are the main drivers of the absolute decline of the nation. The more democratic we've become, the further we move from the principles of our founding.

Democracy is possible everywhere. It just sucks more where people are at near down's syndrome levels of intelligence.

Well that's absolutely contradictory.

A "tolerant democracy" will be unable to maintain the "cultural profile" you claim is necessary to a functioning democracy.

Republican ideas are pretty much ubiquitous though. Most countries in the world have some version of parliamentarian republicanism, and there are officially very few countries that aren't republics. In practice you have constitutional republics where no transfer of power occurs, which number around 50 countries in the world.

"democracies are good states, bad states are not democratic"

All democracies are, by definition, kleptocratic and redistributive, BTW. that's the entire idea.
