Do you remember when Paul Ryan was a Tea Party candidate?

What happened to him? Do you think the Deep State has dirt on him or threaten his family?

Paul Ryan seems to be the stereotypical politician. He will say whatever he thinks will make him more popular for that day. He's a younger Hillary. I am not sure he has any true convictions. If he does, it isn't well known.

Yes, he is a political prostitute.

Does Trump have a candidate to primary Ryan next year?

Not that I know of. Maybe one will come along.

quote:The tea party was a big supporter of him when was selected as Romney's running mate, but I don't think he was every a "tea party" candidate. He seems to have been a mainstream Republican from the beginning of his tenure, a decade before the tea party even existed.

quote:Yes. It just happens to he the guy he beat by almost 70 points last year. Highly unlikely he'll make up that type of ground.

quote:Speaker Ryan got another majority chance and did absolutely nothing. He is slow rolling a President just waiting to sign everything within reason. I am sure his polls will be like McConnells. Speaker Ryan did a scripted set-up CNN townhall to try to bedazzle people from WI. Did they fall for it? I doubt it.

Paul Nehlen is a stronger challenger than you think nowadays. LINK

Why would anyone vote for that guy he looks like he should be on glee, not be a leader of men.

Lobbyists. More specifically Tom Donahue and the US Chamber of Commerce.
MIC has one set of NeverTrumpers in there back pockets and the US Chamber of Commerce has the a lot of the rest. There is overlap.
The US Chamber of Commerce is heavily invested in preserving NAFTA, and Obamacare. They are currently very pissed about losing out on TTP and Common Core. And they are fighting for amnesty and open borders for cheap labor.
Paul Ryan is just a puppet for his puppet masters at the US Chamber of Commerce.

I would sacrifice Paul Ryan's seat to a Democrat if it meant him losing his position as Speaker of the House.

It was after he jooned Romney. Total change.
Posted on 9/2/17 at 7:54 am to rebeloke
He is Eric Cantor. He's been lucky enough to have suckered his constituents to maintain his power.

it goes way beyond just that. remember the GOPe pow wow meetings at the Florida Island plotting against the 'tea party' (freedom caucus now?) they plan and set up candidates to fool people. look at Marco Rubio, he ran under the tea party mantle, then upon arrival to DC; dissed the tea party caucus and ran to the GOPe underbelly.
it was the GOP that redistricted in Fla. and took out Allen West.

quote:I agree. He backed Scott Walker in the fight against unions in a big way and helped Walker win that fight. I doubt the Ryan of today would do so again.

I think he got a taste of Washington elite status as the VP candidate, and became enchanted by the establishment. He's never been the same.

They don't need dirt on him or anyone else. Those people go up there and fall in love with the lifestyle and importance. They then play the game and do what they need to stay in power and good standing with their new club. Ryan is s perfect example of DC intoxication. His soul is gone.
