I thought the same thing. This is something more than just a disgruntled customer. Killer had to know the victims schedule. Went to a nearby Starbucks and apparently was only waiting for a matter of minutes before the victim walked out of his hotel at 6:45 AM. That’s not some guy just waiting around until the victim happens to walk out. That’s somebody who knew the victim would walk out at that time.

Well, you are the one saying hundreds of thousands. If you think that is short, you do you.

Look at the wife first

The wife has been interviewed. She said he had been receiving death threats but was unwilling to change his travel plans. She was trying to console the children while dealing with her own grief. I think that the murder is probably related to his position as CEO of UHC. It is a shitty company but the guy's family shouldn't have to suffer for it.

a ruined doctor or denied claim)... yes. IF that's true they will be very easily to narrow down the pool of suspects and then technology will get the list to very short.

Do you think that’s a small number of people or a large number?

left casings

That was on purpose. He wrote the words Deny, Defend, and Depose on the casings.

There is a book about how the medical insurance industry handles claims titled "DELAY, DENY, DEFEND".

Co-incidence? I think not.

Definitely gives insight into his motive, unless that is a complete swerve.

It’s been 24 hours. The odds of solving go down in the next 24 hours.

Yes. This was not a professional hit. Bounty Hunter on news saying this was a revenge killing. Says too many mistakes made to be a professional,

The assassin was one of this guy’s people. We’ve already seen how clumsy they are.

That’s what faraday bags are for.

This chap was not a professional. He might have been hired to do the job, but that doesn’t make him a professional. He didn’t appear to have a military bearing in his gait or stance. He didn’t avoid obvious cameras. He didn’t police his brass

He left shells with clues …. the words Deny, Depose, and Defend were inscribed on the casings. If he took the time and patience to inscribe messaging on the casings, for the purpose of leaving a message, ….you can bet he avoided leaving DNA evidence on the shells, Easy to sterilize.

But don’t worry…. the FIBs are on the case. Narrative building is in process ….

He bought a water bottle and a cup of coffee at Starbucks. Cops recovered the water bottle and the cup from the trash at Starbucks so they will have DNA if it comes to trial….

Also they found a discarded o phone nearby.

But with the words on the casing it seems that he is connected to a case of coverage denial, but for UHC that would be a lot of people but it is a solid lead…they can filter out all of the minor stuff and work the big denials…..

Did they find the bike in Central Park ? Seems like they found a discarded bike But it was erroneously reported as a city e-bike and apparently. Was not……..

Yes. They will put the very best investigators on this, plus a ton of resources.

But the guy's security was pretty shitty.

He wasn’t that big of a dog. $10 million annual total compensation is not a level that screams security detail. I knew a billionaire who had no security personnel around him at all.

nobody with half a brain is bringing a fn iphone anywhere with them for a task like this.

even if he had a anonymous prepaid burner flip phone with no GPS they cannot pin anything to him because they would have no clue whose number that was at the closest tower once it pinged using cell tower triangulation
