Easy to say this, but in 2016 the socialist candidate should have won the primary if it weren't rigged, and that was largely based on the youth vote.
Our high schools and universities are teaching that socialism is a good thing, and apparently a lot of students are listening.

When Perez beat out Keith Ellison for the DNC chair position I responded to the assertion that Perez was not as left as Ellison.
I said 'I've listened to Perez a lot. He's as far left as Ellison.'

Tom Perez...Pushed the "muh racist voter ID laws" narrative while letting the Philly Black Panthers walk for their voter intimidation tactics. Also as Secretary of Labor, oversaw the worst Job Participation Rates in the US since the Jimmy Carter administration.
Keith Ellison...a history of anti--semitic statements and went on national TV claiming that George Wallace was Republicans.
GOP stacked
Democrats fuuucckkked.

my parents, living below their means to ensure i got a good high school education

Using a minarchist frame of services while arguing for so much more is hilarious. Roads, courts, and law enforcement could be paid with so little money relative to GDP that someone using those as examples of 'you don't deserve that' is beyond disdain.
