I obviously don't like her, but facts are facts. Taylor Swift is much closer to being 40 years old than 20 years old. Hell, she's closer to being 40 than 30.
Her fan base is disproportionately teen and pre-teen girls. As such, she's the female equivalent of a male teen idol. Those guys have a certain window of time before 1) they get too old for the gig, and 2) a new crop of teen and pre-teen girls come along who want to fawn over a young man who is closer in age to them.
Same dynamic for Taylor Swift. Hell, she's old enough to be the mother of well over 50% of her fan base. She should ask Justin Bieber (or Frankie Avalon
) if the teen idol gig lasts forever. Obviously, it doesnt.
