False.

It's kinda cool for pop culture but doesn't make the country any better and America is more diverse than everand also more divided.

This has already been beat to death on here but I’ll beat it again.

Diversity of ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds is a strength. Diversity of superficial and meaningless traits such as race and sex is meaningless

Dont differences in race, sex and ethnicity provide a general shortcut to that diversity of ideas and perspectives?

I would hazard a guess that a black lesbian from the inner city may likely have different thoughts on subjects than a white man from a rural town in East Texas.

Arent the superficial differences the pathways to the diversity of thought?

Diversity is merely DILUTION unless filtered.

Diversity of ideas is the bedrock of western civilization.

Diversity of skin color is meaningless - probably more harmful than helpful for society at large = unless there is some correlation between skin color and intelligence, in which case the more intelligent specie should be favored for advancement of western civilization as we know it.

To choose skin color as a major preference in achieving 'diversity' is meaningless and does nothing to advance society.

It is helpful in harvesting votes from the preferred class however.

Those two people do have different perspectives, but you purposefully picked extremely different people.

But if I give you a black man, an Asian woman, a Hispanic man, and a white woman, and they are all devoutly Catholic, were raised by two college educated parents, went to college themselves, majored in mechanical engineering, and all of them believe strongly and adhere to family values are they actually diverse?

False, nor is it a weakness.

If all people are created equal, this is the only answer to the question.

The Earth has had great civilizations that were diverse (US, Rome, Mongol Empire) and not diverse at all (Egypt, Greece, India). It has much more to do with great leadership than it does whether the population is all one color or not.

Absolutely false. And forcing it creates animosity and weakness.

Well, if you look at history, diversity is not a strength and in fact it’s usually the hallmark of a society that is in decline and about to collapse. From the Roman Empire in ancient times to the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the early 20th century, multi-ethnic societies don’t tend to fare well.

Rome began to decline when non-Romans began to resent being ruled by Rome.

The Mongolian Empire began to decline when non-Mongolians began to resent being ruled by the Mongols.

The US, while not in decline yet, is being torn apart by non-Americans who resent being ruled by Americans.

If you take an objective look at history, time and again you will see a society rise and dominate only to fall due to groups who have been incorporated into that society resent, and resist being a part of that society.

This is the bottom line.

"Diversity" in and of itself is pretty subjective and HARDLY an indicator of success or failure, in a vacuum.

I disagree with this.

It's both a strength and a weakness. You could make a pretty strong argument that it's a net weakness. It's definitely not nothing.

Fair enough, but that resentment is based on values and not color.

Well, it depends on what one means by "diversity" to begin with. If you're ONLY talking about skin color, then, yeah, it means nothing--no more than any other immutable trait.

That's the problem--"diversity" can mean literally anything.

To a degree, you’re right. The US is a prime example of this. For the first 150+ years the groups who were integrated into American society while being of different ethnic groups, all held certain similar values and beliefs that were similar to traditional American values and beliefs. Thus those ethnic groups were woven into American society over time. However, now a good deal of people being integrated into American society hold radically different values and beliefs.

Thus unlike past ethnic groups who have successfully woven themselves into American society, more recent groups are sequestering into their own little enclaves causing a Balkanization of many communities.

Furthermore, this problem of Balkanization is being exasperated by Progressives who are pushing an agenda of forcing Americans to accept these foreign values and beliefs instead of encouraging these ethic groups to adopt the values and beliefs of American culture

When the melting pot was overwhelmingly filled with people from nations with similar cultures it worked fine.

Diversity for the sake of diversity is a losing game. Did I also mention it is discriminatory? My obvious answer is false!

France, Germany, and England have already shown that Diversity isn't a strength.
