It might work out better this way. He likely won't be renewed when his contract expires about 8 months from now anyway. With this, they can't say Trump is controlling everything. Kimmel will likely eventually be cancelled because his ratings suck. No martyrdom for him.

Adam Carolla keeps telling us he’s not a horrible person. I think he may just be a TRUE moral idiot- the kind of person who doesn’t recognize dark patterns and disturbing trends and doesn’t understand why it’s wrong to villainize people to the point that they get murdered.
