1. The sketch is terrible. The only moments that made me chuckle was the black guy who was skeptical and the dude wondering why no one was filming what was happening
2. The sketch isn’t making fun of Christmas as much as it’s making fun of white folks who try waaaaaaaay too hard to be hip. I experienced so many cringy presentations and skits when I was a teen attending church youth activities. While what they were doing in the sketch was significantly raunchier, the ideas our youth group leaders and catechism teachers would float out were no less eye-rollingly cringy.
3. SNL makes fun of Judaism, particularly Chanukah, regularly. Mostly, because Chanukah sucks. Look up Chanukah Harry as it’s my favorite version and it’s pretty true to life. Judaism gets made fun of because it’s a lot like a really low-budget and lame Christianity.
4. SNL doesn’t offend me as a Christian, it offends me as a comedian because it sucks.

This skit is top liberal boomer humor that still lives in the 1980s where making fun of Christianity is peek edgy humor.
