The saddest part of this isn’t Trump or Charlie Kirk, it’s that people now trash lifelong friendships over politics. That never used to happen. You could fight about Reagan or Clinton, then fire up the grill and watch football together. Now it’s “agree with me or I’m done with you.” That’s pathetic.
If this guy’s known her since grade school and is ready to cut her off because she’s conservative, that’s on him. That’s not friendship, that’s weakness. Real friends don’t demand silence or loyalty oaths. Telling someone to shut up because you don’t like their politics? That’s pure control, the same authoritarian garbage the left screams about while practicing every day.
Good for her standing firm. Too many people cave just to keep fake friends. If he walks, let him. She’ll be better off without someone who thinks politics comes before decades of history. Truth is, the country’s in real trouble if we can’t even keep friendships through political differences. That used to be part of what made America great. Now it’s falling apart because too many people are soft.

I think you are missing an important point. “Hate” does not have a universal definition that comes complete with lists of what is, and isn’t, hate. The actual definition of ”hate” leaves room for subjective opinion. You can’t retreat behind the definition of hate; you have to defend your position in the marketplace of ideas…and so do they.

I still remember my brother and brother in law posting some pictures at a Trump rally when he first ran. The things there so called friends were saying to them was something out of a YouTube comment section.

The irony of your post is that this thread is about someone liking Charlie Kirk, who once scolded and humiliated a guy for the same exclusionary mindset toward gay people. The kid proudly called himself a Trump supporter, and Kirk shot back, “You are NOT a Trump supporter, my friend.” The kid came in expecting applause by hating on gay people but instead got flat out embarrassed by one of the most influential conservatives alive.
