The Constitution remains a leap of faith for citizens. We agree to live within its confines despite the fact that it may slow or frustrate our efforts to achieve our immediate goals. It has served us well through rageful times and reckless leaders. It was designed by Madison to be idiot-proof and every president in my lifetime has put that design to its test.
Not much has changed over the centuries. The Constitution was written not just for times like this, it was written in times like this. The Federalists and Jeffersonians were actually trying to kill each other. Yet, here we remain. We are no more united than we were. Indeed, the only essential thing we have in common is the Constitution itself. It is a covenant of a common faith that unites us and protect us . . . despite our best efforts to the contrary.

That is very well written and, indeed, true.

Looks like the University of Florida may be submitting their application to join the Ivy League.

Dozens of Florida students signed petition to abolish Constitution
quote:
Dozens of students at the University of Florida said the U.S. Constitution should be abolished and even signed a petition to do away with it. "It should be abolished," one student told Campus Reform in a man on the street-style interview published Thursday. "It’s time for a new Constitution." "The time period was rich old white men and that's exactly what that document says, and stands for and vouches for," another student added when asked if the Constitution is a symbol of the patriarchy. The video was conducted ahead of Constitution Day, which is celebrated on Friday, and included asking the students if they would be willing to sign a petition to abolish the Constitution and replace it with a modern, inclusive one.
quote:
Dozens of students signed the petition, the outlet reported. "It has to be," one student said when asked if the Constitution should be revised. "It was written in the late 1700s, it wasn’t written for the 21st century." "There are a lot of outdated things in there that nowadays aren’t accepted," another said.

This is what is wrong with social media. Why should we even care what dozens of students are doing in a country of 350 million. This type of headline now makes it seem like a whole bunch of people want to abolish the constitution. Twenty years ago these flakes wouldn't have gotten any attention outside of the college's common area.

The issue is that people want to abolish the Constitution.
How can we be as united as we were when people want to abolish the unifying document

For real...and who do these dumbass students think they're petitioning anyway? Their parents need to slap some reality into them.

I use this a lot and at 61 I can attest that nothing, when it comes to the Fed Government or elected officials is idiot-proof.

I’d hate to even imagine the stupidity that would come out of a re-written Constitution nowadays.

Yep, never underestimate the bounds of idiocy within the Fed.

Far left liberal whackjobs like Odumbf*ck are on record as saying that the Constitution is just something to get around. And, of course we know that their preferred method of getting around it is to simply pack the court with intellectually and morally bankrupt filth that will sh!t and piss all over it and literally rip it into shreds.
We just had a President of the United States publicly state that he was doing something that he knew was unconstitutional but did it anyway because it would take time to make it up to the Supreme Court to overrule it.
Just really think about that.

Arrest them. Then when they complain ask them on what grounds they should be allowed to go free.

Dozens of Florida students signed petition to abolish Constitution
35,000 students at University of Florida. Dozens have signed the letter declaring they are domestic enemies of the constitution, the republic and democracy. When you get a cancer, you stamp it out quick before it grows. If the cancer grows, it will stamp you out quick. We know what happens if you ignore the problem.
