Oh lord. Here come the crack shots! Lol.
I own this same gun with the eotech red dot. That dot would cover his entire head like a garbage can lid at that range.
I didn't say anything about how well I can shoot, I'm just talking about how a man's head would look through iron sights at that distance. It would be about the width of the front sight post, not a "grain of sand".
You don't know wtf you're talking about, especially when discussing an Eotech. That's a one MOA dot in the center, so it covers roughly one inch at 100 yards, 1.5" at 150 yards. Even if you were using it wrong and had the brightness up too high so it bloomed to cover twice as much you're still talking about 3-4 inches being obscured at 150 yards. It would not "cover his entire head", and the fact that you think that makes me wonder if you've ever actually used the gear you claim to own.

This assassination reeks of “Fog of War”

Okay, so the best you can do is a link the very video I’m telling you I don’t see anything in.
I’m saying a see a shadow on the side of the vent and the effects of atmospheric conditions on video. Sciency stuff.
You’re saying you see a sniper with a clearly visible rifle who is 10 feet tall, didn’t fire any shots that hit anything, and teleported to another dimension afterward. Assy stuff.

I’m happy for you.
So you k ow that’s the wrong side of the vent for a would be shadow. It’s clear in every video that picks up the tower from a distance. Clear movement by shadow too.

Can hit at 500 with someone who knows how to handle a good 5.56 cartridge.

Absolutely, I had my wife dinging a 12in plate with my AR from 150 yards with iron sites and a bit of instruction..

Edit: Flats beat me too it.
One MOA is 1” at 100 yards. The center dot of Eotechs are 1 MOA, so 1.5” at 150 yards.
Also, an Eotech is actually a holographic sight and not a red dot (which typically have dots of 3-6 MOA), though many people use the term interchangeably. We have no idea what reticle he had and Eotech has a bunch. I think Eotech’s most popular reticle is their single dot bullseye reticle, which is a 1 MOA dot surrounded by a 68 MOA circle. But all of their reticles I believe are based on this 1 moa dot/circle reticle. All I have ever shot have been at least. They do offer multi dot reticles which are designed for longer ranges, 200, 300 and 400 yard shots depending on number of dots. The center dot of an Eotech should only cover 1.5” at 100 yards.
Brightness will also impact the apparent size of the dot somewhat. At least it does me. Brighter = bigger. Dimmer = smaller. But that is why they have a reoshat, so the shooter can adjust for environmental conditions. A dot adjusted for a dark room will not even be visible in bright direct sunlight; and one adjusted for bright sunlight will be overpowering in a dark room.
An Eotech is not the best choice for precision long range shooting. But it is certainly capable of making a 150 yard shot or longer.

See, I’ve been assuming you’re completely made up shooter who didn’t shoot anything was on the other side before vanishing into thin air. Now we’re getting somewhere. Isn’t this fun?

This kid didn’t fricking red dot Trump’s ear at 500 feet bro
Do you think he was aiming for his ear?
Perhaps he was aiming for the center of his head and pulled the shot several inches to the left? That would make more sense to me. Do you not think it would be possible to hit an 8” target with an Eotech at 130-150 yards? It sounds like you don’t. I just want to make sure I’m not misunderstanding you.
Also, what Eotech model do you have that completely covers a head at 100 yards? I want to avoid that one.

He’s got the exclusive “Trash Can Lid” reticle.

That model must have been available exclusively at Big Lots or Dirt Cheap. I had never heard of it until tonight.

The YouTube guy said red dot no magnification
He said the dot completely covered the head.
With the elevated heart rate I’m shocked he got that close.

It would have made it a much tougher shot, but 120 yards isn't THAT far. From memory a front site post is about 8 MOA, so at that distance it would have been about as wide as Trump's head, around 10". With young eyes that's doable with practice. I no longer have young eyes.
I understand that, but I would imagine there’s a physiological response similar to buck fever if you’re lining up a shot to assassinate someone. Of course, maybe that was what saved Trump. He was in the process of pulling the trigger but didn’t stop when Trump began moving his head.

And a western sun into his glass in full daylight on a white roof shooting at a target that looked like a speck of confetti among 3 grandstands of other people
Like I said…. He had magnification.

I have no idea who the YouTube guy is or red dot he was using; they're not all the same size. I think the average Aimpoint is 4 MOA, but Eotechs are smaller, some reflex dots are larger, like 6 or 8.
MOA measurements aren't my opinion; they're not anybody's opinion. A 2 MOA dot covers about 2" at 100 yards no matter who's looking at it.

Anyone find it odd they haven’t shown more pics of the rifle? No more crime scene photos? No pics of spent shells? No explanation how the rifle was 8’ away from him? No pics of his backpack, drone, bicycle, or car? No other pics of the van with Arizona tags that supposedly had explosives rigged?
Theres one close pic of him dead, one of him dead on the roof that looks like it was taken from the space station, and a pic of one of his phones next to a transmitter for the explosives.
Thats it. For such a huge story, nothing. One of the clearest pics they have is someone from the FBI with a water hose washing the blood off the roof.
Which again, is very odd.

No doubt. I'm not saying it's a slam dunk; it would be easy to miss. It would even be easy, albeit less easy, to miss with magnification. But it's also not a shot that would require any sort of formal training or expertise, and the only reason people who should know better are saying that is because it implies some deep conspiracy.

There seems to be a lot of confusion of what the sight picture of an eotech looks like vs. a 3-5 MOA red dot. Here is a comparison of the red dot in that video and a standard eotech green reticle. I used the size of the sight to try to make an apples to apples comparison.
At 130 yards, the larger red dot doesn’t completely cover the head target. The much smaller Eotech center dot certainly wouldn’t.
3-5 moa red dot
Eotech Bullseye
