Democrats are desperate to pass major legislation so that they can run on “achievements “. They will get Manchin to agree to the carve out of the filibuster rule because he owes them one because of BBB.

Nope. The only hope after it passes is the USSC finding it unconstitutional. Short of that the republic is finished and we might as well decide to be subjects of DC and leftist lunacy or free men and fight.

First, is Ol' Dick a Dem?

Second, if he's a Dem do you think he'd say his party won't get something done?

Third, and most importantly, if Ol' Dick is a Dem then you know he's a lying jackass and is only spreading fear. Other actual "Democrats", the real kind, have also said they wouldn't end the filibuster or change voter laws federally to override the states authority.

Lastly, even more "Dems" have said they are not for packing the court. So if you choose to listen to the Communistic Dems only you're gonna hear doomsday all day every day.

Do not let them scare you, be better than that.

Record inflation and COVID deaths are quite the achievements.

Manchin doesn't have to give them shite. Look how he's been ostracized since he shut down BBB. They've decided to attack his character rather than carve out a deal. Big misstep.

Correct.

Faith in our election systems has already taken a beating. It's on life support IMO.

This would crash it in for the majority of Americans and if that happens, the entire system of government won't work.

Well the jackass Dem party knows they're a sinking ship.

Can it sink with all of them on it sooner? Like, off the southern coast of Africa during Great White mating season?

Manchin is not a reliable ally for the Republicans. He may be regretting torpedoing BBB and this might help him be accepted again.

I have ZERO faith in John Roberts' Court, but they're also not the final say in the matter.

Unfortunately, Article I Section 4 does say that Congress can alter the time and manner of holding elections for Senators and Reps. The only thing Congress can't change is the place of choosing Senators. Now, I think an argument can be made that mandating ballot drop boxes in different places not set by state legislatures is altering the place of choosing Senators but I don't think the Roberts' Court will find that argument persuasive.

So what? It’s just speeding up the timeline to the inevitable split of this country.

Wrong. The rational, level headed argument against voter ID is that it prevents fraud. Fraud is a necessary tool to keep Republicans from destroying democracy and preventing the great reformation of our economy to one which promotes equality, justice and fairness.
The short version of the rationale is simply: BAMN.

Zero.

None.

100%

its why I have left the Republican party and registered independent...Jan 7th 2020

they let the left roll over them

the country is headed for a disaster...because Leftist rule everything...the GOP I mean what purpose do they serve these days?

protect yourself and your future the best you can...

it's all going down...but leftist ideas and policies and built on fantasy rather than fundamentals.

Because conservatives will be prosecuted, unlike Demorats. Two tier justice system.

You don’t think Manchin will cave on this as a payback for the BBB torpedo?

I don't. A filibuster carve out is no different than getting rid of the filibuster. It shows that you'll override the filibuster whenever you want. It becomes a fig leaf after that.

Also, it is highly likely that the voting rights law would be voided by SCOTUS. It seems patently unconstitutional. Why would the Democrats hand over the filibuster for a law that won't pass muster?

In three years there is an excellent chance that Republicans will hold all three lawmaking branches. There are too many common sense Democrats left who don't want to see the filibuster destroyed.

Dems can do whatever they want and nobody is going to do anything about it.
By far the most armed citizenry in the world yet the most passive acceptance of corrupt totalitarians too. Government and politicians do not have the slightest fear of the people in the US.

You mean like the nuclear option for judicial nominees?

What ruling from the Supreme Court lately gives you any confidence that pedophile Roberts will allow that?

A government full of Dan Satterberg Republicans might as well be a government full of Democrats.

Requiring only registered voters who provide I.D. IS NOT restricting the vote.
