You see what happens Chicken when you don't give us Christmas Lights? We take out all the lights in a city. Perhaps we target Houston and/or Dallas next (I forget where you live). Are you prepared to consider our demands?

I can't even imagine being a cop in Detroit. I bet it is hard as heck to recruit good canidates. Cops love stability and Detroit provides NONE of that.

Besides the 100 or so buildings, the street lighting system is also down. They have about 100,000 street lights in Detroit and until they started a decades late rebuild year before last, it was a mercury vapor system that used series wiring. That technology went out of style in the fifties. They are spending $185,000,000 replacing the light fixtures and converting the wiring. That's $1850 per light paid for with govt bonds backed by a city that is broke.

You are not very up to date with how things are in Nola if you are trying to compare it to Detroit.
People are actually moving into the city and things are going well. They can't build condos and apartments fast enough and several neighborhoods have undergone major gentrification.

something isn't right- same article says that

quote:

As result of the outage Tuesday, Detroit Public Schools followed a half-day dismissal procedure after 87 of its 97 schools were impacted

So out of 100 buildings in the area, 87 of them were schools? How are there even 87 schools that close to each other?

MI is a heavily Democrat area and the areas around Detroit are relatively prosperous.

This is a race issue but people want to dance around that.
