re: Despite being open (to the disappointment of alarmists) GA cases continue to decline.

Georgia reported 767 new cases yesterday.
How do you account for that in that graph? Something is off.
I think the data from GA government is lagging.
Here are the most up to date numbers.

The solid black line is GA's 7 day rolling average which is 712 cases per day. The dotted line is GA cases reported per day.

GA's real time infection rate is below one. That means infection will eventually stop. Whatever measures GA is making they are working. That what an Rt number below one means.

The chart in the OP comes from the Georgia Dept of Public Health website. Are you saying they’re fudging the numbers?

No surprise. We were had. Time to move on.

To be fair the numbers that GA is posting seem to be lagging other sites. Maybe they have a more critical vetting process and are not counting people that die from other causes not COVID but just happen to be infected with COVID at the time.

Sure. Hope.
But it’s not how it actually works.
True. In most places, we've certainly observed a decrease in the rate of growth in new cases, hospitalization and mortality, but in raw day-over-day numbers more of a plateau than a steady decline. Could be worse...

I seriously got unanimously downvoted for pointing out it's not been nearly long enough since they opened up to celebrate? That's not a arguable point, guys. They've been open five days and it would take two weeks for anything to change for the worse if it's spreading now.

Have a downvote for being a bitch complaining about a downvote...
Little hint, it usually just means you suck arse...

Listen, you can think Georgia is doing what is best. But, you don't have to pretend that the numbers are something that they are not.
That graph isn't showing what the OP suggested it was showing. New cases have NOT fallen off that much over the last week.
The information is readily available. Google it.

I got unanimously downvoted for accurately pointing out the chart in the OP wasn't accurate.
We live in a time where people reject reality when it doesn't fit what we want it to fit. Liberals are famous for doing it. But, it's not only liberals.

This seems like an overly complex way of saying simply, “the GA Dept of Public Health website is showing old info”
Or am I misunderstanding your point?

That chart looks like there has been a significant drop in new cases. That was the point of the OP.
That is not the case. You asked me if they were "fudging numbers". I don't have an opinion on why the chart is misleading, but it CERTAINLY is misleading.
Do you agree that the data shown on that chart is inaccurate?

JBE is censoring that graph in LA

I honestly haven’t studied the reliability of GA’s reported numbers to know. But several posters here have said they are showing old numbers on their website, which certainly sounds plausible to me

Well since you don't want to look it up yourself, you can take my word for it. Georgia has approximately 700-800 new cases per day. And, if you look at that graph, it indicates far, far fewer in the last week. And, the OP was using it to show that there has been a dropoff in cases.
That just isn't reality.
The reality in Georgia is:
* They have flattened, and that is a good thing
* I support their decision to reopen aggressively
* New cases will probably have a lag to the reopening. So, if there is an impact, we will probably see it in a week or two.

You’re right. It’s just that you’re predictable. Be less predictable. Make a common sense point on the other side once.

Not really, lol. I haven't posted on this site in literal years until recently. So I'm still getting shocked by the state of certain things here, didn't used to be like that back in 2011.

In other words, the chart that you referenced in your OP is misleading.

So, either Georgia has some special magic force or shutting down in the manner that we did really didn't sway COVID infection rates like we are being told by the experts.

On the other side? Do you mean I should make a common sense point that fits the conservative line more than the liberal line once in a while? I have done that plenty here.
Maybe it just so happens that when it comes to pure interpretation of Covid numbers and stats like this thread, the common sense argument comes off as coming from the side that's not rife with biased disinformation to the contrary right now? And I've mostly been posting about straight data stuff and science related stuff, since that's what interests me, so I'm coming off predictable?
You have made several common sense points that were rational and reasonable on Covid's relationship to pneumonia deaths. I appreciate that. But what are you going on about and what's your problem with me, exactly?
