Roger I didn’t think you subscribed to the generic drive by talking points parroted day after day after day. I don’t want to believe I was wrong though. These generic talking point against Trump are very unimpressive, I’ll politely describe it. I was sure you were higher gauge than the rest of that group. C’mon man.

My father did as well by enlisting in the Army. His high school yearbook is filled with signatures saying they hope he doesn't go to Vietnam.

He got lucky and spent his first enlistment in Korea.

I am really excited to put another attorney in office. It always works out so well for the country

JAG officer is not a line officer either. He should keep his yap shut about his military service.

Imagine, in 2023, thinking that fighting in the fricking Vietnam war was some kind of honorable or macho endeavor.

If people made the choice to fight then that is on them and those that served should be respected whether you agreed with the war or not.

The ones forced to either through the draft or in fear of being drafted are victims and I feel for them and the families that lost their loved ones. As I said, it was a very dark time and modern slavery.

You don't think it was wrong that he was forced to enlist out of fear of being drafted?

I have no problem with the military or war. My son is in the military currently.

I do have a problem with bullshite political wars and MIC boondoggles.

There was no reason for the United States to be involved in Vietnam.

Wanna know what’s even funnier? Waay funnier: “I voted for Trump twice, but……I’m gonna trash him more than Democrats even do now. Thereby proving myself and admitting to have apparently been a dumbass those two times.”

He is quoting a Trump hack from twitter to make Ron look bad, doing so without giving any thought to accuracy of what is being talked about. Just mindless reposting of trash in the name of his MAGA godking Trump.

Agreed. But those that didn’t serve should not be disrespected.

Agreed. As I said, IDC that people dodged the Vietnam draft. Doesn't bother me one bit no matter who it is.

That's exactly what it is. Bunch of fake patriots grasping at straws on a man who had pretty decent run as a JAG officer in the US Navy.

But it's not a cult.

So you would have just accepted being drafted to fight a war you didn't believe in?

Are you intentionally missing the point? If Trump wasn't a coward, he'd have refused to serve for that reason. That isn't what he did. He faked bone spurs. He's a coward and there's no way around it, no matter how much you try to dress it up.

That's why I don't care about the whole draft dodger narrative with regards to anyone.

I don't really care about your personal opinion on it because it doesn't absolve Trump.

That maybe true. However, we WERE involved in Vietnam and over 50,000 American servicemen were killed fighting in that conflict. You can disagree with the reasoning behind getting involved in the conflict while still honoring the men who fought and sacrificed while deployed there.

No one is beyond criticism or contempt.

That’s a big difference between most conservatives and progressives. Conservatives will criticize their supposed leaders. Liberals will go down with the ship.

JAG with JSOC who helped plan missions with SEAL team one. Was highly regarded by them.
